Cannot get verified as faculty member - UK #184381
-
Hi everyone,I cannot seem to get verified as a faculty member. I have a letter with the university (University of Exeter) letterhead dated March 2025 confirming my employment as a permanent member of staff starting 2019. I have updated my billing information and the name associated with my account so both match this letter. The first 3 times I applied and was told that my academic affiliation could not be verified, I was told to complete the Github billing information with the correct name (which I did after the first attempt); now on the 4th time no reason has been given. |

I understand how frustrating this must be. It sounds like you've already given a valid faculty verification letter and updated your billing information to match, which are the right steps. Right now, the best thing to do is reach out directly to GitHub Education support with your verification letter and account details.
The GitHub Education team can look at your documents manually and help finish the verification process. I hope this helps, and you get verified soon! |

Hi @drkgyoung, This usually happens due to verification checks, not document quality. Try this:
If it still fails, reply to your last rejection email or open a GitHub Education support ticket and request manual review, mentioning repeated attempts and UK faculty status. Faculty verifications often need manual approval, so escalation is normal here. If this answer solve your all doubts so can you please mark my answer as solved |

Make sure your GitHub profile name + billing name exactly match the letter (no titles like Dr., Prof.).
Upload one clear image/PDF showing:
