Records the 2026-10-04 ruling: watch<T>() returns T or throws, watch<T?>() returns T?, the extends Object bound is dropped. Implementation follows on the next genesis_tree dev minor; the_grid does not adopt.

Nico's ruling of 2026-10-04: watch<T>() returns T or throws; watch<T?>() returns
null for absence; the `extends Object` bound goes. Ships as a breaking dev minor
of genesis_tree; the_grid never adopts, grid adopts from first use.
