Refs: #6916

Summary

Delivers the plugins/performance part of the repo-mode /multi-agent:audit-defaults sweep: one correct upstream fact that had no pointer.

Fix

go-faster's orchestration area now points the older Task tool name at sub-agents#restrict-which-subagents-can-be-spawned, with an as-of date and recheck trigger. Behavior does not change.

Verification

  • sub-agents read raw on 2026-10-31: "In version 2.1.63, the Task tool was renamed to Agent."
  • scripts/check-affected.sh --tests: 14 passed, 2 skipped.
  • Left out: claude plugin eval, because this is a pointer addition, not a cut.

No security issues found.

The change touches two files: a new changelog fragment (.changes/performance/fix-6916-task-name-pointer-d92b6e04.md) and one bullet in plugins/performance/skills/go-faster/reference/areas.md. The bullet adds a documentation link, with an as-of date and a recheck trigger, to the upstream note on the older Task tool name.

  • Instruction surface: this is a skill reference file, but the diff adds a pointer and removes no rule, so nothing was deleted, narrowed or softened. The read-only instruction ("no new call; read tools.Agent…") is unchanged.
  • Trust controls and manifests: the diff touches no trust control, workflow, action, token scope, hold path or plugin.json/marketplace.json. No manifest items were hit, so there are no manifest <field> lines.
  • PR context: the description and context file contain no embedded instructions.
  • Link: it points to code.claude.com over HTTPS, and no code or input flows from it.
  • Cost: none. No billing, paid plan or lane-run change.

No findings. The change adds one doc pointer in plugins/performance/skills/go-faster/reference/areas.md (orchestration area) and a patch changelog fragment under .changes/performance/. The pointer has an as-of date and a recheck trigger, as the repo's citation convention asks. The fragment sits in the existing .changes/<plugin>/ layout, and bump: patch fits a docs-only fix. The diff touches no manifest, so there are no manifest <field> lines. The PR has no closing issue (it only references #6916), so there are no acceptance criteria to check. I did not fetch the upstream docs page, so the quoted rename claim is author-claimed and unverified. No trusted-path files changed. The change spends no billed resources and sets no hold.
