fix(kimi): drop the unsupported output.encrypted_content include on Kimi Code Responses - #8122
Codex Desktop asks for include: ["output.encrypted_content"] on every Responses turn. Kimi Code's native Responses endpoint (https://api.kimi.com/coding/v1/responses) answers 400 invalid_request_error: include value "output.encrypted_content" is not supported, so a Codex App chat routed to kimi-code through openai-responses failed before any tool call or answer.
The passthrough already removes this exact include entry for xAI, Meta and Azure (#7878). Kimi Code now joins that list, matched only at its exact HTTPS endpoint https://api.kimi.com/coding/v1/responses on the default port. The host-and-path check the Kimi empty-assistant filter already used moves into a shared isKimiCodingResponsesUrl predicate, with that filter's behavior unchanged. The include strip adds the HTTPS and default-port requirement through isKimiCodingResponsesHttpsUrl. structure/transports/responses-wire-shapes.md documents the new destination. Only the exact output.encrypted_content string is removed. reasoning.encrypted_content and other include values, input, tool calls and results are unchanged, and an include list left empty is omitted. Other Kimi paths, lookalike hosts, plain HTTP, non-default ports and other providers keep their current request body.
bun test tests/providers/kimi-coding-output-include.test.ts: 11 pass, 0 fail on the current head. This covers duplicate entries plus http and :444 lookalikes. With the src/ change stashed on the first commit: 6 pass, 2 fail (the removal case and the empty-include case), independently reproduced in review.
bun test tests/adapters/openai/openai-empty-assistant-history.test.ts tests/providers/xai/xai-responses-adjacency.test.ts tests/providers/azure-adapter.test.ts tests/responses/responses-muse-tool-choice.test.ts tests/ci-workflows/file-size-ratchet.test.ts tests/test-layout.test.ts tests/test-layout-tooling.test.ts: pass. This covers the existing Kimi empty-assistant behavior and the other include-strip destinations.
bun run typecheck, bun run privacy:scan: pass.
NOT RUN: bun run test:changed and the full bun run test. The host is shared with several full-suite lanes, and earlier test:changed runs did not finish in 20 minutes. Left to this PR's test changed CI job.

Bug Fixes
Requests sent to the exact HTTPS Kimi Coding Responses endpoint on the default port now omit the unsupported output.encrypted_content option. Other supported include options remain in their original order, and the include field is omitted when filtering removes its only entry.
Requests to other destinations, including other Kimi endpoints, retain their existing include options.
No actionable comments were generated in the recent review.
Walkthrough
The OpenAI Responses adapter now identifies Kimi Coding Responses endpoints and removes output.encrypted_content from matching HTTPS requests. It preserves other include entries and unrelated destinations. Tests cover filtering, empty lists, and input immutability.

URL helpers match the Kimi Coding Responses host and path. The HTTPS helper also checks for the default or unspecified port. The empty-assistant check uses the shared URL matcher.

The passthrough adapter applies existing include filtering to matching Kimi HTTPS destinations. Tests cover duplicates, retained entries, empty and absent lists, unrelated destinations, and input immutability. The comment, documentation, and test-layout mappings also reflect the behavior.

Full details: Title check
Explanation
The title names the main change: the PR drops the unsupported output.encrypted_content entry from the include list for requests to Kimi Code's Responses endpoint. The raw summary and PR objectives confirm this is the core behavior. The title is specific, concise, and single-sentence, with a conventional fix(kimi) prefix. It does not mention the destination-scoping or the empty-include omission, but it does not need to cover every detail.
Full details: Linked Issues check
Explanation
Issue #8075 is the only active direct linked issue. The implementation meets its coding requirements. src/adapters/openai-responses/empty-assistant.ts exports isKimiCodingResponsesUrl, which matches api.kimi.com and /coding/v1/responses with an optional trailing slash. isKimiCodingResponsesHttpsUrl additionally requires HTTPS and the default port. src/adapters/openai-responses/passthrough.ts applies stripUnsupportedOutputInclude at that scoped destination. The existing request-strips.ts logic removes only output.encrypted_content, omits an empty include, and preserves other body fields. The existing Kimi empty-assistant filter now uses the shared host-and-path predicate without changing its eligibility. The added provider tests cover duplicate removal, preservation cases, empty-list omission, input immutability, and HTTP, non-default-port, and other-destination lookalikes. The reported focused tests, typecheck, privacy scan, and related regression tests pass. No evidence shows protocol, model, authentication, chat history, tool data, or unrelated provider behavior changes.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The changed files remain connected to issue #8075. src/adapters/openai-responses/empty-assistant.ts extracts the existing Kimi URL check and adds the HTTPS/default-port predicate required to scope the rewrite. src/adapters/openai-responses/passthrough.ts enables the requested normalization. src/adapters/openai-responses/request-strips.ts updates the related provider comment. tests/providers/kimi-coding-output-include.test.ts provides regression coverage, and the two test-layout files register that test. structure/transports/responses-wire-shapes.md and docs-site/src/content/docs/reference/adapters.md document the destination-specific behavior. No unrelated cleanup, protocol switch, authentication change, history rewrite, retry workaround, or provider-wide rewrite is evidenced.

Add a duplicate-entry case to the Kimi include test.
No test in tests/providers/kimi-coding-output-include.test.ts sends output.encrypted_content twice. A later change that removes only the first match would still pass every case in the file. The current stripUnsupportedOutputInclude removes every match, so the present behavior is correct.
Add this case to the describe block:
test("removes every duplicate output.encrypted_content",()=>{expect(wire(["output.encrypted_content","reasoning.encrypted_content","output.encrypted_content"]).include).toEqual(["reasoning.encrypted_content"]);});

Add a forward-auth case for the Kimi include filter.
The Kimi output.encrypted_content strip at src/adapters/openai-responses/passthrough.ts:366-368 depends only on the destination URL. It does not check authMode. Every case in tests/providers/kimi-coding-output-include.test.ts uses key auth, including the destination table at lines 52-59. A change that gated the strip on key auth would leave the suite passing.
A custom provider with authMode: "forward" and the Kimi base URL reaches the same strip. The suggested case below uses the existing wire() helper. Forward mode on a non-canonical provider needs no caller credential or header, so the fixture does not need one.

Add a forward-auth test alongside the existing cases using the `wire()` helper
with the Kimi provider configured as `authMode: "forward"`. Verify that
`output.encrypted_content` is removed while `reasoning.encrypted_content`
remains, so the test exercises the URL-based filter independently of key
authentication.
