feat(kiro): add IAM Identity Center login to dashboard - #7690
Add AWS IAM Identity Center to Kiro dashboard sign-in. The hub runs a regional AWS OIDC device grant; the operator authorizes it in their browser and chooses a server-offered Kiro profile when needed.
Resolve the selected grant's AWS email before storing the account so users sharing an organization profile keep separate credentials. Preserve active accounts, principal ownership, admission limits, cancellation, expiry and protected credential writes.
Carry the contributor branch with ordinary merge 5cd1e574b4 from dev b16bc0978b2eef1799f38042084809b5a0cd11bf. Test commits 664f1f0011 and 2227def566 give the two repeated credential-write scenarios the existing store-operation budget, preserving all iterations and assertions. Runtime IAM implementation is unchanged by this carry.
Verification
Final head: 2227def566cc8e1f80b1f7f862cd59ff1a416f1f. Windows host, repository-pinned Bun 1.4.4, OCX_TEST_NO_QUEUE=1, one Bun test process at a time.
bun install --frozen-lockfile and bun install --cwd gui --frozen-lockfile: passed.
bun run test --parallel=1 tests/providers/kiro/kiro-device-iam.test.ts tests/providers/kiro/kiro-device-builder.test.ts tests/providers/kiro/kiro-device-social.test.ts tests/server/server-kiro-device-login.test.ts tests/test-layout.test.ts tests/test-layout-tooling.test.ts tests/ci-workflows/structure-ssot.test.ts: 110 pass, 0 fail, 1,049 assertions, 7 files (26.30s).
From gui/: bun ../scripts/test-with-pinned-bun.ts --isolate tests/kiro-device-login.test.tsx tests/fr-localization.test.ts tests/locale-parity.test.ts: 45 pass, 0 fail, 8,639 assertions, 3 files.
bun run typecheck, bun run --cwd gui build, bun run lint:gui, bun run structure:index, bun run structure:check, bun run privacy:scan, git diff --check: passed. Generated structure index has no diff. Vite reports its bundle-size advisory.
Red to green: the initial focused set was 109 pass / 1 fail when the 40-completion case exhausted the default 5s. A subsequent run exposed the 14-write IAM pressure case's same default-budget defect. Both now use existing STORE_BUDGET_MS; no iteration or assertion was removed. With this budget, temporary ablation of completed-flow/snapshot cleanup failed 0 pass / 1 fail at the snapshot assertion (0.71s), and ablation of terminal-only eviction failed 0 pass / 1 fail at the live-profile assertion (2.31s). Both production ablations were restored before the final 110/0 run.
GitHub GraphQL: 0 unresolved review threads. Branch is 0 behind the merged dev snapshot above. Owner decisions and explicit security PASS recorded 2026-10-28T18:40Z remain the authority; the carry changes only test budgets. maintainer-sponsored is present. The two previously reported check failures were hygiene and enforce-target, both citing unsponsored_surface before sponsorship was added.
Full-suite exception: parallel maintainer carry lanes share this Windows host. Per lane instructions and AGENTS.md's resource exception, local validation is limited to the focused behavior/layout/structure files and focused GUI files above. Full backend/GUI suites and exact-head hosted CI are left to CI/coordinator; no unrun suite is claimed green.
NOT RUN: full bun run test, full GUI suite, import-graph suite, docs-site build, live AWS organization/device-grant smoke, new desktop/mobile browser capture, manual cross-platform dispatch. Existing captures remain representative because this carry changes no GUI source.

Preserve live select-profile flows during eviction.
When the table reaches 16 entries, pruneFlows() can select the oldest select-profile flow because its predicate only excludes pending. The start capacity guard runs after pruning, so it does not prevent this eviction. A later profile-selection request then returns 404 "unknown Kiro profile selection".

Maintainer triage review (round 2, against dev 0aeaf0c), head c8dbc68.
Live profile-selection flows can be evicted.src/oauth/kiro-device-login.ts:143 excludes only pending flows from eviction, so at 16 entries a flow in select-profile can be dropped and the later selection returns unknown-flow. Please evict only non-live flows and add a cap-pressure regression.
gui/src/components/KiroIamLoginForm.tsx:23,28: stale validation messages persist after the field is edited.
Docs: translated pages describe ARN-only identity (for example docs-site/src/content/docs/ko/guides/providers.md:171); structure/providers/kiro.md:16 should distinguish the OIDC and social hosts.
hygiene/enforce-target report unsponsored_surface: a new authentication surface needs explicit maintainer sponsorship and security review. The change touches tests/helpers/kiro-device-fixture.ts, which the CI Windows filter covers, so a full-platform run will be required.
Addressed the implementation and documentation findings in dc7ae2f, after merging current dev (8ebe46b).
Flow-table pruning now evicts only terminal flows. The new regression fills the table with retained terminal results while an older IAM flow awaits profile selection, verifies that selection survives, and verifies that the four-live-flow cap still holds. It failed before the fix and passes afterward.
Editing either IAM field clears stale validation feedback and its ARIA invalid/error association. Regression cases cover each field and confirm that submission still rejects the remaining invalid input.
Corrected the ARN-only identity statement in the English guide and all seven translated guides. The guides now describe profile ARN plus the signed-in user's email when available, including separate credentials for users sharing an organization profile.
The Kiro structure contract now distinguishes the Builder ID AWS OIDC host, Google/GitHub social host, and regional IAM OIDC host, and documents preservation of live flows under capacity pressure.
Final local validation on this head: complete backend suite 52,631 pass / 170 skip / 0 fail (all 22 lanes); complete GUI suite 3,520 pass / 0 fail. The 28 focused Kiro/device/API cases pass, and the final IAM-specific rerun passes all 10 cases. Typecheck, full GUI lint/build, docs build (593 pages; 84,872 internal links), structure checks and privacy scan all pass. Full results and the refreshed author checklists are recorded in the PR description.
The remaining maintainer-only requirement is explicit authentication/security sponsorship (maintainer-sponsored) and the full-platform CI run requested in triage item 4. My upstream repository permission is READ; a maintainer needs to authorize/start those checks.

The additional accepted-commit expiry finding is fixed in 384e09b. Both request-driven expiry paths now preserve a flow after the protected credential write accepts its commit, matching the existing timer fence.
Two regressions hold configuration publication open, advance past the flow deadline, and issue concurrent status/cancellation calls. Both failed before the fix and now pass; the final Kiro/device/API set is 30 pass, 0 fail. Typecheck, structure and privacy checks pass. Final import-connected regression coverage is 33,939 pass, 42 skip, 0 fail across 1,524 files. The complete default suite on its parent was 52,631 pass, 170 skip, 0 fail. The description records this final-delta scope exception, all commands/results, and refreshed author checklists. All four inline review threads are resolved.

Maintainer triage (2026-10-28, against dev 96f2f47):
This is not superseded by #7455: that change fixes CLI identity import, while this PR adds native IAM Identity Center sign-in.
The implementation and documentation requests from October 24 are addressed in dc7ae2f, and the expiry follow-up in 384e09b. Those requests do not need repeating.
Refresh onto current dev and update the head-specific Verification and readiness statements.
Keep the explicit Kiro device/API regressions, including tests/providers/kiro/kiro-device-iam.test.ts, and the form-edit cases for gui/src/components/KiroIamLoginForm.tsx.
Record a live organization/device-grant smoke result when available. Until then, keep the current distinction between synthetic fixture coverage and live verification.
The test registrations, locale coverage, translated guides, screenshots, and resolved review threads are already present.
Maintainers still need to complete the authentication/security review, decide sponsorship for the OAuth surfaces (src/oauth/, oauth-account-routes.ts), and approve PR CI. Please keep the PR in draft until the remaining readiness items are met. Thank you.
Refreshed onto current dev 1f8405734 as one ordinary merge commit, 86aeade73 (no conflicts; your commits unchanged), as the 2026-10-28 triage asked.
Local, Bun 1.4.4: bun run typecheck, structure:check, privacy:scan; test-layout, file-size and import-cycle ratchets with kiro-device-iam and server-kiro-device-login: 74 pass / 0 fail. GUI (kiro-device-login, locale parity, fr localization): 45 pass; lint:gui, lint:i18n and the GUI build pass. One timing test, kiro-device-social.test.ts "many completed flows release their entries…", exceeds its 5 s limit on my loaded Windows host; it fails the same way on unmodified dev, so it is not from this PR.
I have not approved PR CI: the OAuth surfaces still need the maintainer's security review and sponsorship decision first. Remaining for you: the head-specific Verification and readiness statements, and a live organization/device-grant smoke result when you have one.
Management admission, principal/flow ownership, offered-profile selection, cancellation/expiry and protected append-only persistence were traced; public views exclude credentials.
Fixed AWS destinations, bounded upstream responses, redirect refusal and terminal credential cleanup remain enforced. Device authorization only: no new callback listener.
No dependency, workflow, release or provider-preset changes.
Applied maintainer-sponsored and approved PR CI for this head. Remaining before merge: green exact-head CI, completed PR template/readiness, and owner decisions on (1) admitting organization IAM login for Kiro, (2) sending the grant to both US East and Frankfurt discovery endpoints regardless of SSO region, (3) mandatory AWS email lookup stored in the private auth store.
Owner decisions: yes to all three — admit organization IAM Identity Center login for the existing Kiro provider; send the grant to both the US East and Frankfurt discovery endpoints regardless of SSO region; and look up the AWS email and keep it in the private auth store. Security review already passed. Remaining before merge: green exact-head CI and the completed PR template/readiness boxes.

Use the existing STORE_BUDGET_MS for the 40-flow retention test. The case
performs real protected credential/config writes; retain every iteration and
assertion. The Windows default 5s budget expired after 5.05s. Retaining both
the completed flow and config snapshot still fails at the cleanup assertion
under the store budget (0 pass, 1 fail in 0.71s).

Apply STORE_BUDGET_MS to the other repeated protected-write case after its
5s default timeout under Windows contention. Keep all 14 completions, the
active-flow cap and owner-scoped profile-selection assertions. Ablating
terminal-only eviction fails at the preserved live-flow assertion (0 pass,
1 fail in 2.31s) within the store budget.

Red: focused backend run 109 pass / 1 fail, default-5s social timeout; the next run exposed the same budget issue in IAM pressure. Under the store budget, cleanup and live-flow-eviction ablations each still produced 0 pass / 1 fail at the contract assertion (0.71s and 2.31s). Production ablations restored.
Green: bun run test --parallel=1 over IAM, Builder, social, management login, layout, layout tooling and structure SSOT: 110 pass / 0 fail (7 files, 1,049 assertions). Focused GUI login/French/parity files via pinned isolated runner: 45 pass / 0 fail (3 files, 8,639 assertions).

GraphQL shows 0 unresolved threads. The previous hygiene and enforce-target failures both cited unsponsored_surface; sponsorship is now present. The description is refreshed for this head with the documented focused-suite exception.
NOT RUN: full backend/GUI suites, import-graph suite, docs-site build, live AWS smoke, refreshed browser captures, workflow dispatch. No CI approval, labels, reruns or merge performed. Exact-head checks must complete successfully before the coordinator merges.
