fix(live): bound WebSocket close without releasing live ownership - #7635
After the existing one-second grace period, terminate unresponsive attached and pre-upgrade live-sideband transports on Bun1.4.4. Release admission ownership only after a close event or observed CLOSED state; missing, throwing or ineffective termination retains the lease. Preserve first close code/reason, graceful peers, identity checks and exactly-once release.
Live relay tests use the existing owned-service-home inspection fixture. Production inspection, its fresh second probe, assertions and timeout contracts remain unchanged.
The previous refresh at 3e5816b6e3354e63d1c499080e100018e917caf3 merged public head 3cb35c2fac4f99341d4b87e7712a959f50918022 with dev 323a5e11772c38c15b271d23c7696c5947bb97da. That refresh had a dev-relative scope of 11 files (+270/-55). Current security dependencies and CI policy are preserved; runtime and test runner are both Bun1.4.4. The duplicate-account pool-key assertion follow-up remains included.
Verification
Current public head: 0efa9c6026b79b84e8bd6124e08f6c54151595cb, after maintainer merges of dev.
Exact-head full cross-platform CI 40301217753 is pending; the aggregate ci job has not completed. Full CI success is not yet claimed.
The local results below retain their stated historical commit scope. This update does not resolve the earlier Linux profile-drain discrepancy or replace admission-ownership security review and maintainer acceptance.
Reused official Windows Bun1.4.4 historical results at3cb: 102 passed / 0 skipped / 0 failed / 544 assertions, in four separate processes (duplicate-account35, live-server55, close8, bridge-delivery4), native0 with complete output capture. The two WebSocket production blobs, these four test files, dependency inputs and checked helper/preload/runner inputs remain unchanged. These are historical owned-contract results, not fresh3e tests or proof that all transitive base behavior is identical.
On exact 3e5816b6e3354e63d1c499080e100018e917caf3, official Windows Bun1.4.4 passed the three selected native-profile drain cases in separate processes: 3 passed / 0 skipped / 0 failed / 30 assertions (HTTP/Responses6, Live/Realtime14, uncooperative closure10). Each filter matched exactly one case. Native exit0, both output streams reached EOF, and no direct children remained. Existing watchdogs, 1100ms observation and 75ms switch budget were unchanged.
New exact-head default-source TSC, canonical layout (29 passed / 579 assertions), structure check, generated skill-surface check, B11 privacy/size and diff checks passed. Existing102 historical tests were not replayed; no full-suite or new hosted CI result is claimed.
Static review found no changed close/CLOSED release branch. New base code carries refusal provenance through response wrappers and corrects sweeper registration/timer ownership; integration validation remains distinct from own-blob preservation. No new exact-head hosted/native-platform CI result is claimed. Earlier full CI at e8ae remains historical.
Earlier Linux validation reported profile-drain HTTP400 on candidate and baseline where200 was expected. This remains unresolved, not fixed by refresh or a Windows pass. Fixture ownership mocks do not establish real-host service ownership, actual account state or live application lifecycle acceptance. No configuration, ACL, auth, timeout, metadata or production admission rule was weakened.

Summary by CodeRabbit
Bug Fixes
Live sideband connections now allow up to one second for a graceful upstream shutdown before an unresponsive connection is terminated. Account capacity remains reserved until the upstream connection is confirmed closed, including when the client upgrade fails.
Documentation
Updated English and Korean guidance to describe sideband shutdown behavior and when active-call capacity is released.
Updated runtime guidance for selecting and validating the Bun test runner.
Force an unresponsive live sideband transport closed after the existing graceful timeout, retaining admission until close or observed CLOSED in both teardown paths.

Medium — Platform validation remains incomplete.tests/server/server-live-close.test.ts:123 skips the native silent-peer regressions under CI’s Bun 1.4.3. The only exact-head CI run passed with Windows/macOS suites skipped. Before landing, complete exact-head ci.yml lane=all and attach reproducible Bun 1.4.4 native regression evidence. No spawn, PowerShell, path or ACL code changes.
Medium — Maintainer acceptance is missing.MAINTAINERS.md:63 requires maintainer approval or the recorded integration decision described at :65–70; neither appears in reviews/comments. Obtain that acceptance and explicitly record the admission-ownership security review required by :74–75.
No source correctness or credential-boundary regression found. Both fallbacks now terminate; release still requires close/CLOSED evidence. Tests meaningfully cover graceful closure, stalled peers and ineffective termination.
Registration and fixture agree; layout.json is 1,999 lines, structure/runtime.md600, with no changed-file ratchet violation. PR template is complete; unresolved review threads: 0. Branch is 4 commits behind live dev (ceef4889e4), with no overlapping changed paths; GitHub reports MERGEABLE.
NOT RUN: tests, typecheck, builds or validation gates, per read-only instructions.
This is a read-only source review; merging still requires the gates named above (exact-head CI, lane=all where marked, and maintainer acceptance where required).
Do not require translated-guide changes without a contradiction.
The translated integration guides contain no Qoder-specific content or customModels behavior. They therefore do not contradict the updated English instructions. The requested locale updates are unsupported.

The resolved graph contains no body-parser 1.x consumer. bun.lock resolves body-parser@2.4.0, and its only recorded consumer is express@5.2.1, which requires body-parser: ^2.2.1. Version 2.4.0 satisfies that range, so the proposed scoping change is not supported by the current dependency graph.

⚠️Unverified finding
Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
Check each root for open owners immediately before removal.
drainAndRemoveFixtureRoots checks all roots before it calls any removal callback. If the removal callback for root A opens a native-main owner under root B, the earlier check still marks B ready. The helper then attempts to remove B while its owner is open. Move the owner check into the removal attempt, after the earlier removals and before the synchronous removal callback.

Every case in this file exercises the /v1/live relay or the readiness surface; none asserts on service-home ownership. Route startServer calls through startTestServer, which injects the established ownedServiceHomeInspection seam so in-process fixtures stop spawning sc/schtasks probes (~60 inspections, ~2.3s each on non-English hosts, was the 180s incompletion). deps spread last keeps per-case injections (readinessGate, liveSidebandWebSocketFactory) authoritative.

Register server-live-close.test.ts in the existing layout-clients shard instead of a new layout-server shard, which collided with dev's layout-combos explicitShards entry.
Maintainer integration decision for v2.93.0 (lane L-D1): merging into dev by squash. The release triage flagged this PR as a release blocker.
Exact head 0efa9c6026b79b84e8bd6124e08f6c54151595cb (current dev merged in; no rebase or force-push). PR CI 40301185103 passed. Cross-platform lane=all40301217753 on the same head passed with all 34 jobs complete, including the Windows and macOS shards.
The dev merge needed one layout fix: server-live-close.test.ts is now registered in the existing layout-clients shard instead of a new layout-server shard, which collided with dev's new layout-combos entry.
Independent review round 1: PASS with zero blocking findings. Four real-peer regressions fail on clean dev and pass with this change. The review also found a pre-existing gap: cancelling a pending sideband join can release native-main admission before the upstream socket closes. This PR does not introduce it, and it is reported separately to the release coordinator.
Merged with current dev8a3be7716 locally on Bun 1.4.4: tsc --noEmit exit 0, structure check passed, 136 live-close, live-server, stored-main duplicate, layout and ratchet tests passed with 0 failures.
