📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThe native Anthropic Messages lane now admits pooled OAuth accounts. It supplies session and model context to account selection, observes quota headers, and supports bounded account recovery for eligible responses before output. OAuth wire shaping renames declared tool names across message blocks and preserves qualifying native-client preambles. ChangesNative OAuth Messages

🟡 Minor · Skip blank identifiers before applying session-key priority. · claude-messages.ts:1211-1217
src/server/claude-messages.ts:1211-1217
🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winSkip blank identifiers before applying session-key priority.
When
metadata.user_idis absent andsession_idis blank, this caller selects the blank value instead of a validx-claude-code-session-id. The helper also selects that blank value beforethread_id, then trims it to empty. If no usable non-shared cache key exists, it returnsnull. Native OAuth then has no conversation key for account affinity, so repeated requests can be treated as unbound sessions. Skip blank values both when choosing the session header and when choosing among the helper’s candidates.Suggested fix

Fixed in 829b203, and propagated to the dependent settings PR #6547. The native Messages caller now falls back from a blank |

Maintainer action requested: the session-affinity fix now touches |

Superseded by the manual replacement chain #6552 (b89935c) → #6559 (18fbd99), carrying source head 829b203. All source files and accepted behavior are accounted for: deferred/inline tool names, native client identity/preamble/betas, pooled eligibility/selection, exact serving identity, refusal recovery, streamed-output boundaries, disposal-before-rebinding and blank-session fallback. Source regressions remain; refinements add route/generation/manual-selection fences, tried-account handling and grant-before-accounting checks. No accepted source scope was dropped. Claire Novotny is credited in both replacement PRs and carry commits. Independent exact-range tool, client and server/security reviews and cumulative source-coverage verification passed. The native layer records 333 passing focused tests plus static/layout/documentation checks. These replacements remain unmerged drafts; actual live multi-account/resumed-cache acceptance and several dedicated native race scenarios remain explicitly unverified. This closure is supersession, not shipment or closure of issue #6532. #6547's settings/default layer remains separate and open until its replacement is verified. |
…ude-tools Native OAuth Messages now use consistent names for declared custom tools across deferred references, inline additions/removals, tool choices and historical tool uses. The declaration pass rejects ambiguous typed/custom names before a request is built. Copy-on-write traversal leaves schemas, arguments, unknown content and cache markers unchanged. Carries all of #6533 at `8e5c78912222b1616709d664c23de254dd71b7c9`, plus the inline-tool naming portion of #6534 (`829b203b3e65530a4cdaaa121f2da15484c2c9b7`) and #6547 (`5f3cf4ed0b4a63604133863442002fb9ac824b16`). Pooling, client identity/betas/preamble, and settings/defaults are separate follow-up layers. This PR alone does not supersede #6534 or #6547. Source disposition remains coordinator-owned. …ude-native Eligible native Claude Messages requests can use Anthropic OAuth account pooling while preserving caller history, cache markers and recognized client compatibility headers, preambles and betas. Account selection, model routes and pre-output refusal recovery reuse existing shared owners. Bindings recheck current route and exact credential generation/UUID; family admission happens before send accounting; recovery disposes the rejected body before rebinding and does not replay after output. Manual child of #6552. Carries the remaining native compatibility/pooling behavior from #6534 at `829b203b3e65530a4cdaaa121f2da15484c2c9b7` and the equivalent inherited behavior of #6547 at `5f3cf4ed0b4a63604133863442002fb9ac824b16`; inherited B1 tool changes are not reapplied. #6547 preference/API/GUI/default behavior belongs to a separate child. Both native rollout flags remain opt-in in this layer. Source disposition remains coordinator-owned. Verified current head a0c3f3a with CI 37180620212 and scoped independent technical/security review. Co-authored-by: Claire Novotny <claire@novotny.org>
Summary
Claude requests using multiple stored Anthropic accounts can stay on the opt-in native Messages path instead of rebuilding their history through the legacy bridge. Native dispatch reuses the existing session/model account selector and pre-output refusal recovery while retaining message content and cache breakpoints.
Closes #6532. This contribution includes the compatibility commit from #6533 because resumed deferred-tool history needs both fixes; merge #6533 first, then this branch can be rebased to keep only the pooling change. Both target dev because a contributor fork cannot supply an upstream base branch.
Both native Messages rollout switches remain off by default. Account switches may cold-start the replacement account's cache; the change does not promise shared caches or measured subscription-quota savings.

This PR stays in draft until every box below is ticked. Tick all four boxes once the requirements are met:
Required local validation passed; commands, results, and any full-suite exception are documented.
I pushed my PR to a recent dev commit (at most 10 behind; a maintainer may still ask for the exact tip before merge).
I resolved all correct Codex and CodeRabbit findings.

Summary by CodeRabbit
Review state: no actionable Codex/CodeRabbit threads were posted at readiness attestation. Further review may add findings. User explicitly requested ready-for-review publication.
Current-head feedback validation: native OAuth 403 recovery now uses oauth-account-403; 429 remains rate-limit-429. Regression failed before the correction; 44 native OAuth integration tests (428 assertions), TypeScript, SSOT, privacy and diff checks passed. Posted CodeRabbit thread resolved with visible reply. Separate compiled local fork passed two real small cache requests (second read6,590 cached tokens with zero writes) and nested tool-reference acceptance (200); live multi-account failover remains unverified; current resumed-session cache acceptance is documented below. Maintainer CI approval remains pending.
Native client compatibility follow-up
Resumed Desktop Code testing exposed missing feature betas and an inline tool addition/removal name mismatch. Native OAuth now maps inline custom definitions/references/removals consistently, rejects ambiguous typed/custom name collisions, and keeps typed builtins fixed. Recognized CLI/SDK/Desktop Code bundles preserve their existing billing/identity preamble without fabricating signatures. Known native feature betas travel only with an observed first-party bundle; generic and compatible callers retain their narrower defaults. Counting uses the same shape as dispatch.
Rebase validation
Rebased onto dev 0818ea1 at head e3eefba. All four fix commits are patch-identical by range-diff. The rebased candidate passes 93 focused tests (730 assertions), TypeScript, SSOT, privacy and whitespace checks. The new-base spend path passed 15 focused regressions; both whole-candidate reviews are clear. Documentation build passed 561 pages /77,947 internal links. Broader/full-suite limitations above remain explicit. Current installed local fork was not changed by this rebase.
