What & why

CLAUDE.md specifies status and selection color tokens for Capacitor.App, leaving open several UI and Avalonia layout traps: distinguishing KcapPurple* (active execution and InProgress tasks/counts) from KcapInfo* / KcapSelectionBrush (selected or open rows, including open documents in PLAN), verb-first tool-row typography (KcapTextBrush verb + KcapMutedBrush detail), flush inline ToolCards inside Border.toolGroup, avoiding repeated kind pills/filenames across adjacent surfaces, and Avalonia selector/rounding/animation rules (UseLayoutRounding="False" on odd/even concentric dots, MaxWidth/MaxHeight on Stretch="Uniform" icons, and gating PulseClock.IsActive on live session activity). Also aligns the desktop Artefacts section in README.md with the current work-context pane and card action order.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Clarified that the Artefacts tab includes published pages and documents reconstructed from transcripts, alongside plans, specs, and design documents.
    • Updated guidance on viewing selected items in their declared or published form.
    • Added details about plain-language tool labels and result cards, including when to use Copy link for published pages and Open for documents.

📝 Walkthrough

The changes update desktop-app color and UI guidance in CLAUDE.md and revise README.md descriptions of Artefacts content and MCP tool-call cards.

Changes: Desktop app documentation

Layer / File(s) Summary
Color and UI conventions
CLAUDE.md
The guidance distinguishes in-flight execution colors from selection and open states. It adds conventions for tool rows, inline cards, Avalonia selectors, layout sizing, and continuous animations.
Artefacts and MCP documentation
README.md
The Artefacts description now includes published pages and documents reconstructed from transcripts. Published-page cards list Copy link before Open.

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to f2634

The README gives the published-page actions in the reverse of their displayed order, which may mislead readers about the card controls; the mismatch is localized and does not change runtime behavior.

Before / after behavior

  • observed — Modified behavior in CLAUDE.md: The desktop-app color invariant now reserves purple for in-flight execution and assigns info/selection brushes to selected or open items, including selected rail sessions, list rows, and open PLAN documents. It retains text, muted, and surface tokens for labels and keys; the prior “you are here” location guidance is removed.
  • observed — Modified behavior in CLAUDE.md: The UI color guidance distinguishes active execution from selection and open state, names examples for each, and adds KcapFaintBrush to the tokens used for other content.
  • observed — Modified behavior in CLAUDE.md: New UI conventions specify tool-row and inline-card text hierarchy, when to omit verb labels, flush styling for cards inside Border.toolGroup, and avoiding repeated document identifiers. They also cover Avalonia selector matching, layout rounding for mixed-size geometric indicators, sizing uniform paths with maximum dimensions, and requiring live session activity to gate continuous animations.
  • observed — Modified behavior in README.md: The Artefacts tab now includes published pages and documents reconstructed from transcripts, and is documented as rendering the selected item as declared or published. The prior text describing document kind and filename, and the work-context pane’s one-line Artefacts summary that opened the tab, is removed; remote sessions retain an Artefacts tab in their own switch.

High-Level Assessment

Keeping implementation rules in CLAUDE.md and user-visible behavior in README.md fits their existing purposes. Runtime changes would not address this documentation gap.
