Pre-public housekeeping. Closes #20.

.github/dependabot.yml

Weekly (Monday) updates for both ecosystems:

  • github-actions — keeps the SHA-pinned actions in our three workflows current. Dependabot updates the SHA and the trailing version comment, so the pinning style is preserved.
  • npm — one runtime dependency (@modelcontextprotocol/sdk) and four dev dependencies.

commit-message.prefix is set (ci for actions, chore for npm) so generated PR titles follow Conventional Commits like the rest of the repo. This is the one addition beyond the config proposed in #20 — without it every weekly PR would be titled "Bump x from y to z".

SECURITY.md

Adapted from kosli-dev/cli's policy, with two repo-specific changes:

  • Supported Versions states the latest-only, no-backport reality rather than a version matrix. It also tells sideloaded .mcpb users they must reinstall manually, since that bundle does not auto-update (unlike the npx path).
  • Scope note routes Kosli API/app vulnerabilities to security@kosli.com instead of a public issue here — including ones discovered while using this server, which is exactly how fix: SSRF vulnerability in webhook URL validation #10 arrived.

.github/ISSUE_TEMPLATE/config.yml

Adds a "Report a security vulnerability" contact link to the new-issue page, pointing at private advisories. The repo has no issue templates today, so "New issue" goes straight to a blank box — which is how a vulnerability ended up filed publicly once already.

Follow-up (settings, not code)

Enabling these is a repository settings action and can only happen once the repo is public:

  • Private vulnerability reporting — until it's on, the contact link 404s
  • Dependabot alerts and security updates

Note the policy currently names security@kosli.com only, while the contact link advertises GitHub private advisories. Worth deciding whether to mention both channels in SECURITY.md or point the link at mailto: instead.

Dependabot covers both the SHA-pinned GitHub Actions and the npm
dependencies, weekly on Mondays. Commit-message prefixes are set so the
generated PR titles follow Conventional Commits like the rest of the repo.

SECURITY.md gives a vulnerability reporting path ahead of the repo going
public. Adapted from kosli-dev/cli's policy, without its Supported
Versions section.

Closes #20
…vate advisories

Supported Versions states the latest-only, no-backport reality and tells
sideloaded .mcpb users they must reinstall manually, since that bundle does
not auto-update.

Scope note routes Kosli API/app vulnerabilities to the same address instead
of a public issue here — issue #10 was reported that way.

The issue-template contact link surfaces private reporting on the new-issue
page. It needs private vulnerability reporting enabled once the repo is
public.
