Summary

  • add an explicit backend-specific credential validation policy so Jellyfin requires only a server URL and username while Emby continues to require a password
  • let the shared credential form and submit handler pass an empty Jellyfin password through unchanged
  • cover Jellyfin/Emby validation differences and verify the Jellyfin auth request encodes an empty Pw

Validation

  • swift test --package-path PMSKit --no-parallel --skip 'Live.*ProbeTests' (1,663 tests passed)
  • focused BackendCredentialSignInPolicyTests on the macOS host (3 tests passed)
  • affected matrix builds: visionOS, iOS, tvOS, macOS
  • mobile UI smoke (passed)
  • tvOS UI smoke (passed)
  • clean visionOS simulator build + install/launch/log/screenshot smoke (passed; UUID matched; no app crash/assertion)
  • scripts/ci-hygiene.sh (passed)
  • uv run --with-requirements requirements.txt mkdocs build --strict (passed)
  • official stable Jellyfin demo: transient demo/empty-password authentication returned HTTP 200 with the expected auth shape; immediate logout returned HTTP 204; no token or response payload was persisted

The full affected hosted suites also exposed unrelated existing failures outside this diff: DownloadStoreLookupTests.startupRetirementPreservesCrossKindMainMediaAlias on macOS/iOS, plus the timing-sensitive PlaybackTransportPresentationPolicyTests.sustainedOfflineInitialWait on macOS/iOS/tvOS. The playback suite passed on focused rerun; the new sign-in policy suite passes independently.

## Summary
- record the processed four-platform TestFlight build and current App
Store Connect metadata state
- document the official Jellyfin stable-demo evaluation and remaining
App Review risks
- record that passwordless Jellyfin support landed through #283/#284
- hold submission until licensed final screenshots and a clean reviewer
journey are accepted
- ignore local generated App Store artwork candidates

## Validation
- `scripts/ci-hygiene.sh` (304 tests, strict MkDocs, links, and Mermaid
checks passed)

This is status/documentation only; it does not submit or change an App
Store version.
