Diagnostic only. Do not merge. Close this and delete the branch once the cause is known.

Claude thread titles still fail at work after #213, including with the plain Opus 5.5 model, and failures are silent. This branch makes the reason visible.

Changes

  • ThreadTitleRegenerationService.ts: when title generation fails, the thread title becomes Title error: <reason> (up to 400 chars) instead of staying as the seed title.
  • ClaudeTextGeneration.ts: the "unexpected output format" error also shows the start and end of Claude's stdout.

Try it

  1. Run git fetch && git switch t3code/diag-title-errors && pnpm build.
  2. Reconnect the workspace and accept the workspace helper install.
  3. Start a new Claude thread and read its sidebar title.
  4. Run git switch coder-only to go back.

Two ThreadTitleRegenerationService tests fail on this branch by design, because they expect a failed title to stay unchanged.

Not needed: the work machine wasn't running the updated build. #213 is the fix.
