What happened?

When running shell commands using gemini-cli, if the command output contains Chinese characters, the output appears garbled or corrupted due to encoding issues.

What did you expect to happen?

The shell command output should correctly display Chinese characters without any garbled or unreadable text.

Yeah, changing to chcp 65001 and switching the font (like Sarasa Mono) can help, but it’s basically changing the terminal’s encoding. I think a better approach is to handle encodings like Big5, GBK, or other system encodings directly in the decoder. I’ve already submitted a PR: #1949

This is a defect of Windows itself. Changing the chcp won't solve it either.

Well for me, changing the font is the solution, but on my old cmd, the good fonts are only listed after changing the character set.
