API Error: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'candidates')

What happened?

every time i make a request in the gemini-cli i get the following error: "✕ [API Error: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'candidates')]" and gemini goes in loops trying the same request over and over until i stop it.

What did you expect to happen?

I expected my request to be completed as usual.

I continue to get the same error even after downgrading to 0.27.2 which makes me wonder if this has to do with a server side update.
