docs(testing): grant wgc-capture.exe so computer-use leaves the icon cover up - #1263
Conversation
…cover up On Windows, computer-use minimizes every window it was not granted as soon as it brings an app forward. The Hide desktop icons cover is a window of wgc-capture.exe, so the agent's first click in the v2.1.0-rc.1 pass minimized it and the icons came back for the rest of the take. A z-order log around real user clicks shows the cover never leaves its place above Progman, and with wgc-capture.exe granted the cover held through computer-use clicks too. The helper needs no change.

- Line 158: Update the preflight guidance around request_access to distinguish
all other access from the Windows Record mode exception. State that
wgc-capture.exe must be granted after the take starts and before the first click
because it is unavailable to the preflight batch; retain the preflight timing
for all other access.

Summary
"Hide desktop icons lets go at the first click" is a test-harness artifact, not a product defect. On Windows, computer-use minimizes every window it was not granted as soon as it brings an app forward. The cover over the icons is a window of
wgc-capture.exe, so the agent's first click in the v2.1.0-rc.1 pass minimized it, and the icons stayed visible to the end of the take. This PR documents the grant in the checklist (at the Hide desktop icons check and in step 4) and in AGENTS.md. The helper needs no change.

Testing
A z-order logger (EnumWindows plus WinEvent hooks for foreground, minimize, show/hide and cloak) watched the real
wgc-capture.execover on Windows 11 26200 (Progman hostsSHELLDLL_DefView), in three runs:wgc-capture.exenot granted:EVENT_SYSTEM_MINIMIZESTARTonOpenScreenDesktopIconCover, thenIsIconictrue, along with every other ungranted window. The screenshot note itself listswgc-capture.exeamong the windows it hid.wgc-capture.exegranted mid-take: the cover never moves throughopen_applicationand two clicks in Notepad, and the screenshots show the wallpaper with no icons.Cost of the cover as shipped
This PR adds no runtime code: no hook, no timer, no repaint. For the record, the cover itself, measured with the helper headless, 1920×1080 at 60 fps, one 20 s take of each:
wgc-capture.exeCPU over 20 sCadence is unchanged. The CPU gap is a single pair on a live desktop, so content-dependent noise is not ruled out. The cover thread runs no timer and sits blocked in
GetMessageW, so it is not expected to cost anything; its own thread time was not measured separately.Side observation: when the cover appears, Explorer treats the monitor-sized window as full-screen, and the taskbar drops its topmost flag until the next window switch. No visible effect was measured.
