Echo 1.0 Release Bar #584

Description

@flyingrobots

Echo 1.0 is not a version-number cleanup. It is a capability convergence across Echo, Continuum, git-warp, Edict, Jedit, and the documentation split.

Non-negotiable release gates

Echo 1.0 may ship only when all of these are true:

  • Continuum participation status: attained.
  • Networked causal suffix exchange between Echo and git-warp has happened successfully.
  • Edict works and is used natively in Echo to execute Jedit operations.

Roadmap authority

Live roadmap state must live in GitHub Issues, Milestones, and the Echo 1.0 Convergence GitHub Project. Repository documents may hold stable design rationale and links, but must not be the live tracker.

Initial tracks

  • GP0 Roadmap Substrate: GitHub-native roadmap, milestones, and Project setup.
  • GP1 Durability Substrate: WAL/WSC/retained evidence/recovery foundation.
  • GP2 Continuum Participant: Echo can participate lawfully in Continuum.
  • GP3 Suffix Exchange: Echo and git-warp exchange witnessed causal suffixes over a network boundary.
  • GP4 Edict Pipeline: Edict artifact/admission/invocation pipeline works for Echo.
  • GP5 Jedit via Edict: Jedit operations execute natively through Edict in Echo.
  • GP6 Release Proof: docs split, conformance evidence, release packaging, and final demos.

Known anchors

Exit criteria

  • Every required 1.0 capability is represented by issues in GitHub.
  • Every active slice belongs to the Echo 1.0 Convergence Project.
  • Every required slice has an executable witness or an explicit design/conformance witness.
  • Repo documents no longer carry live roadmap state.
