Review Change Stack

Walkthrough

Updated maintained-app manifests for ChatGPT, Windsurf, DuckDuckGo, Firefox Nightly, Krisp, PicView, Postman, Processing, Shapr3D, and Zoom. Changes include new versions, patched-query thresholds, installer URLs, and SHA-256 checksums. DuckDuckGo, Krisp, and QLMarkdown uninstall scripts now use revised cleanup targets, and Krisp’s install script was replaced with updated quit, install, and relaunch behavior.

🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🔴 Critical | ⚡ Quick win

Fix the metadata mix-up between Devin and Windsurf.

The configuration for devin-desktop contains metadata for Windsurf, not Devin. The bundle_identifier is set to com.exafunction.windsurf (Codeium's Windsurf), the installer_url points to the windsurf-stable.codeiumdata.com domain, and the filename incorrectly merges both names (Devin-darwin-arm64-3.5.17.dmg).

This mix-up corrupts the update feed, leading to incorrect detection and installation behavior. Please separate Devin and Windsurf metadata and update them with their respective correct bundle IDs and download URLs.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔴 Critical | ⚡ Quick win

Use $INSTALLER_PATH instead of a hardcoded .pkg filename.

The script hardcodes the package filename as krisp_3.14.4_arm64.pkg, which has two issues:

  1. It uses a lowercase k, whereas the URL specifies Krisp_3.14.4_arm64.pkg (uppercase K). This will fail on case-sensitive file systems.
  2. It assumes the underlying download mechanism preserves the exact original filename instead of securely renaming it (e.g. to a UUID).

To make the installation robust, pass the known "$INSTALLER_PATH" directly to the installer instead of attempting to reconstruct the path.

🐛 Proposed fix
 # install pkg files
 quit_and_track_application 'ai.krisp.krispMac'
-sudo installer -pkg "$TMPDIR/krisp_3.14.4_arm64.pkg" -target /
+sudo installer -pkg "$INSTALLER_PATH" -target /
 relaunch_application 'ai.krisp.krispMac'
