Review Change Stack

Walkthrough

Updated maintained-app manifests for multiple macOS and Windows applications with new versions, patched-version queries, installer URLs, and SHA-256 checksums. Changed ChatGPT and Google Gemini uninstall references and cleanup scripts. Reworked the Weasis Windows uninstall script to enumerate related products using its upgrade code, uninstall each product with timeouts, and handle MSI exit codes.

- Around line 18-20: Update the uninstall script identified by ref 8a4a4a85 to
call quit_application with the actual removed app bundle ID, com.openai.chat,
before deleting ChatGPT.app. Also replace the quoted ~/.codex rmdir command with
a user-home-resolved removal that handles non-empty directories, preserving the
script’s intended cleanup behavior.

Uninstall script does not quit com.openai.chat before removing the app.

The uninstall script (ref 8a4a4a85) calls quit_application 'com.openai.codex' but never quits com.openai.chat — the actual bundle ID of the ChatGPT app being removed via sudo rm -rf "$APPDIR/ChatGPT.app". If ChatGPT is running, the forced removal may leave dangling processes or cause the app to relaunch from a partially-deleted bundle.

Additionally, sudo rmdir '~/.codex' has two problems:

  1. The single quotes prevent tilde expansion, so it attempts to remove a literal path ~/.codex relative to the current working directory — not the user's home directory.
  2. rmdir only succeeds on empty directories; if ~/.codex contains files, it will fail silently.
🔧 Proposed fix
- quit_application 'com.openai.codex'
- sudo rm -rf "$APPDIR/ChatGPT.app"
- sudo rmdir '~/.codex'
+ quit_application 'com.openai.chat'
+ quit_application 'com.openai.codex'
+ sudo rm -rf "$APPDIR/ChatGPT.app"
+ sudo rm -rf "/Users/$LOGGED_IN_USER/.codex"

In `@ee/maintained-apps/outputs/chatgpt/darwin.json` around lines 18 - 20, Update
the uninstall script identified by ref 8a4a4a85 to call quit_application with
the actual removed app bundle ID, com.openai.chat, before deleting ChatGPT.app.
Also replace the quoted ~/.codex rmdir command with a user-home-resolved removal
that handles non-empty directories, preserving the script’s intended cleanup
behavior.
