Fleet versions
- Discovered: 4.86.0
- Reproduced:
Web browser and operating system: macOS
💥 Actual behavior
When deploying a product such as Cortex XDR with a network filter profile during setup experience, it can cause the setup to hang (not fail). A forced restart of the device results in the setup continuing and installing the remaining software.
If installed last, this does not happen, and the setup experience completes as expected.
🛠️ Expected behavior
@GrayW: Setup experience should be tolerant of a momentary network drop or allow you to set a custom installation order to ensure disruptive items are at the end.
@melpike: I think expected behavior is Setup experience should be tolerant of a momentary network drop. TBD/research if we can detect and re-order on Fleet side to avoid this issue. I don't think having an option for the customer to order items is a good experience—a bit too hands on.
🧑💻 Steps to reproduce
These steps:
- Enrol a macOS device into a fleet with setup experience enabled
- Ensure multiple applications are being installed
- Ensure Cortex XDR is being installed along with Google Chrome
- Applications after Cortex will stall (not fail) until the device is restarted
