I was developing my React native project fine when immediately when i typed react-native run-android it showed me the erro:

yarn upgrade react-native-device-info@2.1.2
cd android && gradlew clean
react-native run-android

you can try this. Its work for me

no i do not use react-native-device-info. I migrated to androidX and updated manually the modules. Now i have another issue :

react-native-push-notification\android\src\main\java\com\dieam\reactnativepushnotification\modules\RNPushNotificationHelper.java:22: error: package android.support.v7.app does not exist
import android.support.v7.app.NotificationCompat;

I try to update this to with androidx.core.app.NotificationCompa t but i still get the error

What if we don't have react-native-device-info? I'm not using it, yet I have the exact same error. (RN 0.60, AndroidX enabled, Jetifier disabled)

For my case, I needed to upgrade all the libraries within the application,

• android.useAndroidX=true
• android.enableJetifier=true
  and migrate the application to androidX (using android studio) and then there were libraries that i had to fix manually

+1 it happened during the migration process from react-native@58 to @59.
