Steps to reproduce

  1. Go into a DM
  2. Click on the location share button

Outcome

What did you expect?

Either location to be shared, or a message explaining why I can't share.

What happened instead?

Error message.

Operating system

Ubuntu 20.04

Application version

Element Nightly version: 2021121001 Olm version: 3.2.3

How did you install the app?

Using the instructions on element.io for nightly builds on debian.

Homeserver

matrix.org

Will you send logs?

Yes

    So the issue is we don't enable webGL in Electron https://github.com/vector-im/element-desktop/blob/b662846bf1d21273b626b4c64274e97b50851ceb/src/electron-main.ts#L943 which the location stuff needs - no idea why we explicitly disable it.
