Integrate with Identiconizer ?

I've been using Germainz's Identiconizer (https://github.com/GermainZ/Identiconizer ; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2718943) for some time, but it unfortunately appears to now be abandonned.

However, it has some cool features, such as several icon styles, automatic icon generation for new contacts (along with an optionnal Xposed module), and so on.

Why not fork Identiconizer and/or integrate your own icon style in it ?

IMHO, it's not a good idea. Icon styles in Identiconizer are outdated, why not rather ask for add others icon Micopi styles :)
Otherwise it would be sad to root his device to take advantage of an option especially if it very interesting.
Automatic icon generation for new contacts should be Implemented in Micopi by an different way that Xposed, if possible of course.

Are icon styles outdated ? I guess it's up to the user's taste, isn't it ? :-)

Anyway, the Xposed module isn't required for automatic generation of pictures ; from what I understand, it allows to use another (less resource-consuming ?) mechanism than a service to generate those pictures.

My suggestion is simply that Identiconizer seems to be (ATM) more mature than Micopi though (apparently) abandonned, so pooling manpower into one app instead of two could bring more goodness. :-)

So far, Micopi's features are :

• generate unique picture (1 style)
• … for a given contact
• … for all contacts with no picture
• … for all contacts
• Material design

Identiconizer! has the same the same (save for Material design), plus :

• 4 picture styles
• choosable background color
• choosable picture dimensions
• automatic generation (via service or optional Xposed module)
• ability to batch-generate picture for several hand-picked contacts
• ability to batch-remove generated pictures
• lightweight (400kB VS 6MB)

So my suggestion is basically to merge Micopi's unique features into Identiconizer! :

• Micopi picture style (flashy colors !)
• Material design

Result : the best of both worlds with all the features in one single app ! :D

Indeed I meant icons in Identiconizer! have a retro style, icons in Micopi have a Material style.

So if I understand well your request, you want the developer abandons Micopi project, fork Identiconizer! to resume its development?

Sorry it doesn't make sense to me, Micopi is still in development news features will come when it will come, please be patient :)

Identiconizer! has Retro, Contemporary, Spirograph, Dot Matrix and Gmail-style. I like Contemporary myself. :-)

So, I do not want anything ; I'm merely suggesting to pool the effort in one direction, since that would bring out the most in the user's (that's me !) interest. :-)
Of course, I'm no one to judge Micopi's dev's goals and will, I simply believe that open-source software allows to build up (and further !) on other people's work instead of re-inventing the wheel.
