'Not supported error' on TIMESTAMP_NTZ #32

Open

Description

@ray-harrison

For tables defined with timestamp_ntz data types, the current version of uc_catalog fails with the below on 'show all tables':

Not implemented Error:
Tried to fallback to unknown type for 'timestamp_ntz'

You can select data from tables without that data type.

The fix I used that works is in uc_utils.cpp and adding timestamp_ntz to the timestamp check:

else if (type_text == "timestamp" || type_text == "timestamp_ntz") {
return LogicalType::TIMESTAMP_TZ;

This is unlikely to be the best solution, obviously, but wasn't sure if that needed to reach further back into duckdb itself.

A data set to use when reproducing or checking is the NYC taxi data as it has this data type in its schema.

    We are facing the same issue.
    Do you know when the PR will be merged please ?
    Can we help on something to accelerate ?

    I'm working on both the backport to v1.5, and getting the nightly distribution fixed, please hang in there :)

    The fix landed, and has been backported, and will ship with the upcoming v1.5.6 release. If you need immediate relief you can try the nightlies. You'll need the nightly duckdb core, which will download the most recent nightly extensions. If you're on python, there are similar instruction higher up in that page.
