This is intended to be a dumping ground for scripts I use in the SUSE Enterprise Storage environment. I make no promises or guarantees, but they are all here for a reason.
Benchmarking
There are two files, createfiojobfiles.sh and benchit.sh.
createfiojobfiles.sh takes no arguments (today) and generates fio job files for performing random read and random write tests on 4k, 8k, 64k, and 1M block sizes. In the script, you may need to edit the filename line to represent the device you wish to perform testing against, eg. /dev/rbd0, /mnt/cephfs1, etc
benchit.sh takes either 1 or 2 parameters and includes support for the --help parameter.
The first, and mandatory, parameter is the number of load generation systems you wish to run the workload from. The expectation is that the hosts are named loadgen1, loadgen2, etc. and that they all have fio --server running on them already with the device to be tested already mounted. The second parameter allows skipping load generation hosts by incrementing the next host by the value in this parameter. This was done to support some testing we were performing on VMware environments, thus allowing us to run a smaller number of loadgens on each ESXi host.
