Metadata-Driven Logistics Platform — Architecture Case Study

This repository summarises the architecture of a metadata-driven logistics platform (TMS/YMS/WMS/TOS) that I designed and built as a CTO leading the development of a large-scale logistics system.

The purpose of this case study is to demonstrate architectural principles, patterns, and engineering solutions — without exposing product code, customer data, or operational details.

Structure of Documentation

  • 🎯 Functional Capabilities
Overview of the platform’s functional model: metadata engine, workflows, status systems, geo components, reporting, multilingual features, feature flags, handlers, optimisation engines, and domain modules.

  • 🏗️ Architecture
Core components, metadata kernel, execution modes, multi-tenancy, access control, communication patterns, and integration strategies.

  • ⚡ DevOps & Operations
Deployment model, CI/CD, scaling, resilience, observability, auditing, monitoring, profiling.

  • 🚀 Engineering Challenges
Selected engineering challenges solved during platform development: ingestion scaling, JSSP solver, VRP engine evolution.
