fix(composer): bring back the released control row; name a worktree's repository in the strip - #1033

… repository in the strip - The input card's last row is v0.4.8's again: add, the mic and the task chip on the left, the model pill (filled, a middle dot before the level) beside the round Send/Stop button. - In a linked worktree the strip under the card names the repository (herdr's repo_name) in the folder's place: the checkout folder only repeated the branch at its other end. - Settings > Chat > Composer > "Folder and branch" turns the strip off (device setting). Restoring v0.4.8's row also restored its wider text inset (--space-5, --space-4 on a phone). At 390x500 and a 24px chat font that wrapped the prompt placeholder onto a third line, so the prompt card lost room and its confirm row covered option 1 (prompt-dock-demo-regression). The inset is not part of the control row: keep main's. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Restoring v0.4.8's row dropped main's rule for a narrow card with a sentence (uploading, reconnecting, no room): the status content stayed in the middle cell, about 50px wide at a 320px phone, so the pill could not hold its parts, the sentence was clipped and the context ring covered Send. That rule is back for the restored row: while a sentence shows, the status content takes the card's width over add and the round button, from where the message starts. The composer fit check now runs the pending-upload case at 320 and 330px too; on the previous commit it failed at 330px. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

242-245: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winAssert that the compact status row stays above the controls.
The pending-upload cases at 320px and 330px check visibility and overlap, but not vertical ordering. A layout change could move the status below the controls while these checks still pass. Add a bounding-box assertion for the documented ordering.

…#1061) ## Change Switching tabs rebuilt everything each time: every switch tore down the xterm and re-attached (`herdr terminal attach` spawns a new process, ~215 ms to content), and every chat switch drew "Loading conversation…" and waited ~240 ms for a 304 although the client already held the body (and read it twice). - **Recent tabs stay mounted** (`PaneCanvas.tsx`, `lib/paneTabCache.ts`): the current tab plus the three most recently visited tabs on each PC canvas stay mounted under the same pane keys, hidden, `aria-hidden`, `inert` and pointer-disabled at their last geometry. Closed panes/tabs and older tabs drop out. - **A hidden pane holds no pty** (`PaneTerminal.tsx`): a cached pane detaches through the existing release path (no watch, no resize), keeps its Terminal and screen, and re-attaches through the existing resume path on return (no `term.reset()`, no new Terminal, no `--takeover`, no replayed input). A pane retained for an outstanding submit keeps today's behaviour until it settles. A pane that was released while the window is away stays watch-only when it is presented again in the background. - **Cached chat first** (`ChatView.tsx`, `api.ts`): on mount/switch ChatView draws the last cached newest page (`peekPaneConversation`, machine-bound) before paint and revalidates in the background; a 304 is the same object and re-renders nothing. Hidden panes keep ChatView mounted with `visible={false}`, which stops reads and `conversation-watch`. - **One read per switch**: a fresh attach's connected edge no longer queues a second full conversation read while the mount read is in flight; a real reconnect still refreshes. - Not changed: answering an unchanged conversation with 304 before the server's full read. Codex `/resume` can rebind a pane to an older thread with no file or process signal, so a cheap validator cannot prove "unchanged"; the cached-first draw hides that wait instead. - Browser checks that assumed only one pane's DOM exists now scope to `.pane-frame.is-current`; assertions are unchanged. ## Validation Measured with a Playwright harness on an isolated herdr session (one workspace, shell / Codex-transcript chat / shell tabs, 10 rounds = 30 switches per run). Not included in this PR. | metric | before (3 runs) | after (2 runs) | |---|---|---| | terminal tab, time to content (warm median / p90) | 215–217 / 278–296 ms | 7.0–7.1 / 8–10 ms | | chat tab, time to content (warm median / p90) | 237–241 / 246–341 ms | 8.7–9.0 / 10–13 ms | | "Loading conversation…" shown | 10 / 10 chat switches | 1 (first visit) | | target xterm recreated | 30 / 30 | 2 / 30 (first visits) | | ChatView mounts | 10 | 1 | | conversation reads per chat switch | 2 | 1 | - `bun run typecheck`: pass (also after rebasing onto #1033). - Unit: 3477 pass, 1 fail — `server/voice.test.ts` "streams deltas and the done text from a split SSE answer" (`clip.webm` vs `audio.webm`), which fails identically on a clean `origin/main` checkout locally; this PR does not touch `server/`. - `bun run check integration browser` locally: every browser script passes except `math-browser-qa.ts` and `render-crash-demo-regression.ts`, and the integration lane fails only `server/hermes.contract.test.ts`; all three fail identically on a clean `origin/main` checkout here. `split-view` timed out once inside the lane and passed on rerun. - New unit tests: `src/lib/paneTabCache.test.ts`, conversation peek / in-flight read tests in `src/lib/conversationFetch.test.ts`.
Contrast, Text smoothing, Panel motion, the UI and code fonts and Folder and branch never shipped (#951, #1033 are after v0.4.8), so their changelog fragments no longer add them and trim-settings removes only the five that shipped. Drops the pace text from the guide, removed settings from DESIGN.md's page list, a vacuous test, the contrast.ts credit and FontFamilyInput's unused placeholder prop.
Change
Three changes to the chat composer, in one PR:
Opus 5.5 · High) next to the round Send/Stop button. The CSS for that row, the DOM order and the middle dot are v0.4.8's. The message box and attachment insets stay main's: v0.4.8's wider inset wrapped the prompt placeholder onto a third line at 390x500 / 24px, and the prompt card lost the roomprompt-dock-demo-regressionchecks. The things added since then stay: the Compact button, the notices and the strip./turned into-, so in a linked worktree the strip said the same thing twice (worktree-lucky-forest-f1c8…worktree/lucky-forest-f1c8). The folder's place now shows the repository (workspace.worktree.repo_name), still with the Worktree mark, and the title still holds the full path. Other workspaces keep showing the folder name. The unreleased changelog line from #951 that described the t3code row now covers only the strip. A new fragment covers the repository name and the setting.
