Raise 4K storage limit

Proposed feature request

Currently, every app is limited to only storing maximum of 4KB of data. Even on the Pebble Steel with 8MB storage, that means that every app can only use 0.05% of the device's storage. And newer watches have 16MB storage, presumably P2D and PT2 have even more.

Could we get that limit raised up, or maybe be dynamic depending on the platform / available storage?

I've been thinking it like this:

• 32MB on the watch
• Let's say half is reserved for the firmware and all other system stuff. that leaves 16MB.
• Let's say user has up to 10 storage-hungry apps installed. That would come up to 1.6MB per app
• Let's say that 600KB out of this is reserved for the app's code/resources
• That leaves us with nice round 1MB limit per app

How does that sound?

Is there a way to know whether the watch I'm running on has 4K or 1M limit? From what I understand, PERSIST_STORAGE_MAX_SPACE is a compile time constant, so it's not dynamic per-firmware.

Not yet, I just pr'ed #1200 which adds a function to check (will be stubbed for a-d). Will only be available in the SDK release after the next release (since 4.9.169 is already staged and tested, and 4.9.172 will not be (immediately) shipped to people).

For anyone else looking at this, I have managed to detect the larger storage by checking firmware versions: matejdro/PebbleTextSync@4dcb66d

this seems like a good enough workaround until we get the new SDK
