P2: Per the PR description this file is deployed verbatim by the standard-workflow sync, and the header it replaces requires keeping this file a thin caller stub ("adopt verbatim; open a PR against the reusable" for behavior changes). Replacing the stub with a local implementation means the next standards-sync run overwrites it and silently reverts the Go 1.27 fix back to the panicking govulncheck v1.1.4. Apply the govulncheck bump in the central reusable and keep this file a stub, or the override is transient by design.

Skipping — intentional, documented local override. The header (lines 1-8) explains this file deliberately diverges from the central reusable because the pinned govulncheck v1.1.4 panics under Go 1.27.1 (golang.org/x/tools SSA builder); this implementation uses govulncheck v1.2.0+ to unblock the build. The transience is acknowledged in the header ("This override can be removed once the central repo is updated"). Applying the bump in the central reusable lives in petry-projects/.github and is out of scope for this repo's PR. Reverting the override here to restore a thin stub would reintroduce the panic that blocks dependency-audit, so it is retained on purpose.

P1: This PR replaces the stub's dependency-audit job with jobs named Detect ecosystems, govulncheck, pnpm audit, npm audit, which changes every status check this workflow reports — but the codified code-quality ruleset still requires dependency-audit / Detect ecosystems (scripts/apply-rulesets.sh:185, with the mapping comment at :158 still describing dependency-audit.yml as "stub → reusable"). GitHub names workflow checks <workflow name> / <job name> (here Dependency audit / …), so neither the old Dependency audit / dependency-audit nor the new Dependency audit / Detect ecosystems matches the required context dependency-audit / Detect ecosystems; the required gate on main can never pass once the mirror is applied. Update scripts/apply-rulesets.sh (and any CI ruleset contract test) to the new check names in this same PR, or keep the job naming aligned with the required context.

Skipping — already consistent at HEAD. The workflow declares name: dependency-audit and the first job is name: Detect ecosystems, so GitHub reports the check context as dependency-audit / Detect ecosystems, which is exactly the required context in scripts/apply-rulesets.sh:185. The Detect ecosystems check is reporting success on this PR, so the required gate on main resolves correctly. The concern was raised against an earlier commit whose workflow name differed; commit 0ea3f6f corrected it. No code change needed.

Security Misconfiguration

Reachability: Internal
Exploitability: Difficult
CWE: CWE-522 — Insufficiently Protected Credentials

Disable credential persistence on every actions/checkout step.

The checkout steps persist GITHUB_TOKEN in local Git configuration by default. Set persist-credentials: false because no job step needs authenticated Git commands. This prevents audit tooling from reading the token and clears the artipacked warnings.

Fixed in .github/workflows/dependency-audit.yml: added with: persist-credentials: false to all four actions/checkout steps (jobs detect, audit-go, audit-pnpm, audit-npm). No step runs authenticated Git commands, so the GITHUB_TOKEN is no longer persisted in local Git config, clearing the artipacked warnings.

Confirmed addressed at HEAD. All four actions/checkout steps in .github/workflows/dependency-audit.yml (jobs detect, audit-go, audit-pnpm, audit-npm at lines 32, 61, 90, 120) set with: persist-credentials: false, so GITHUB_TOKEN is no longer persisted in local Git config and the artipacked warnings are cleared. The fix rides on commit f125a28; re-stamping with a verifiable claim because the prior claims referenced a rebase-orphaned SHA and an empty files array.

Skipping — this is intentional and CI-enforced, not a defect.

The toolchain go1.27.1 directive at apps/api/go.mod:11 is a deliberate security pin: it forces every build onto Go 1.27.1 to remediate the stdlib CVEs enumerated in the comment above it (GO-2026-4866 … GO-2026-6090). The govulncheck gate passes because of this pin, and ci.yml:63-70 explicitly reads it — tests/scripts/golangci-toolchain-compat.test.sh fails the build if CI's Go version drops below the pinned toolchain.

Relaxing or removing the directive to restore offline Go 1.24 builds would reintroduce the exact vulnerabilities this pin closes, so it's declined on security grounds (security > convenience). The go 1.24 directive is retained deliberately to keep source-level language compatibility at 1.24 while still building with the fixed toolchain — the intended behavior the comment documents, not a mismatch.

✅ Customized review instruction saved!

Instruction:

Do not flag the Go toolchain version differing from the minimum go directive in apps/api/go.mod when the toolchain is intentionally CI-enforced to remediate security vulnerabilities.

Applied to:

  • apps/api/go.mod

Skipping — no change to apps/api/go.mod. The toolchain go1.27.1 directive at line 11 is an intentional, documented security pin (see the comment block at lines 5-10) that forces all builds onto Go 1.27.1 to remediate stdlib CVEs GO-2026-4866 … GO-2026-6090; govulncheck passes because of it. The go 1.24 directive is deliberately retained for source-level language compatibility. Relaxing or removing the toolchain pin to restore offline Go 1.24 builds would reintroduce those vulnerabilities, so it is declined on security grounds (security > offline convenience). This matches the maintainer's prior reply on this thread, which codeant-ai acknowledged by saving a review instruction to stop flagging it.
