PR-1 of #1159 (version ci-failure-analyst — Option A). Prerequisite that unblocks cutting its first release.

cut-release.sh's valid_agent recognizes only pr-review | dev-lead (this-repo) + feature-ideation + the six #482 reusables (cross-repo), so cut-release.sh ci-failure-analyst … is rejected. ci-failure-analyst's reusable is hosted in this repo (.github-private), so it's added to the this-repo valid_agent case → agent_host_repo resolves to .github-private. Dry-run now resolves ci-failure-analyst/v1.0.0 + ci-failure-analyst/stable.

Tests: test_cut_release.bats 46/46 (added accept + host-resolution; fixed the "unknown agent is rejected" fixture, which used ci-failure-analyst as its negative example — now valid).

Next (this issue): cut v1.0.0+channels → register in .github/canary-rings.json → repin the 4 consumers (TalkTerm, bmad, google-app-scripts, template).

… agent)

PR-1 of versioning ci-failure-analyst (#1159, Option A). Currently `valid_agent`
recognizes only pr-review/dev-lead (this-repo) + feature-ideation + the six #482
reusables (cross-repo), so `cut-release.sh ci-failure-analyst …` is rejected — you
can't cut its first release.

ci-failure-analyst's reusable is hosted in THIS repo (petry-projects/.github-private),
so add it to the this-repo `valid_agent` case (→ `agent_host_repo` resolves to
.github-private). Dry-run now resolves `ci-failure-analyst/v1.0.0` + `ci-failure-analyst/
stable` correctly.

Tests: +valid_agent accepts ci-failure-analyst, +agent_host_repo resolves this-repo;
updated the "unknown agent is rejected" fixture (it used ci-failure-analyst as its
negative example, now valid) to a genuinely-unknown name. test_cut_release.bats 45/45.

Next (this issue): cut v1.0.0 + channels → register in canary-rings.json → repin the
4 consumers. Refs #1159.

You're only billed for reviews past your plan's rate limits ($0.25/file).

How can I continue?

After more reviews become available, a review can be triggered using the @coderabbitai review command as a PR comment. Alternatively, push new commits to this PR.

To avoid repeated limits, reduce automatic review volume by pausing incremental auto-reviews earlier, using label-based review opt-in, excluding WIP or generated PR titles, or requesting reviews manually when the PR is ready. If your team needs uninterrupted high-volume reviews, an organization admin can enable usage-based reviews.

How do review limits work?

CodeRabbit enforces per-developer PR review limits for each organization. Most developers receive the normal plan review availability.

For paid Pro and Pro+ PR reviews, CodeRabbit uses adaptive limits for sustained high-volume activity. When a developer's recent PR review activity reaches the 95th percentile or higher among CodeRabbit users, additional reviews become available more gradually as earlier reviews age out of the rolling window.

Code Review

This pull request adds support for the ci-failure-analyst agent in the release script and includes corresponding test coverage. The reviewer pointed out that the error message in main() listing the expected agents was not updated to include the new agent, and provided a suggestion to keep it in sync.

Pull request overview

Updates the release-cutting helper (scripts/cut-release.sh) so it recognizes ci-failure-analyst as a first-party (this-repo hosted) agent, unblocking the first versioned release/tag cut as part of onboarding it to the canary/ring release model.

Changes:

  • Extend valid_agent in scripts/cut-release.sh to accept ci-failure-analyst as a this-repo agent.
  • Add/adjust Bats tests to cover acceptance + host-repo resolution for ci-failure-analyst, and update the “unknown agent” negative fixture accordingly.

Cascade: triage → deep (triage: haiku 4.5 → deep: opus 4.8 + duck: o4-mini → audit: fable 5)

Summary

Adds ci-failure-analyst to valid_agent() in cut-release.sh with correct, well-tested logic (46/46 bats, all CI green: shellcheck, CodeQL, gitleaks, SonarCloud all pass). No security concerns. However the gemini-code-assist advisory finding is genuinely unaddressed: the error message in main() (scripts/cut-release.sh:192) still lists the old expected-agent set and omits ci-failure-analyst, so an invalid-agent error would misleadingly exclude a now-valid option. Downstream impact: (none). This is a failed gate on an otherwise-low-risk change, so escalate for the author to sync the message; no Tier 3 security audit needed.

Findings

  • MINOR: valid_agent() now accepts ci-failure-analyst, but the 'unknown agent' error message in main() was not updated to include it. Line 192 still reads 'expected: pr-review | dev-lead | feature-ideation | agent-shield | auto-rebase | dependency-audit | dependabot-automerge | dependabot-rebase | pr-review-mention'. Add ci-failure-analyst to keep the user-facing hint in sync (flagged by gemini-code-assist). (scripts/cut-release.sh:192)
  • INFO: Core change is sound: valid_agent case extended and doc comment updated; regression tests added for acceptance + this-repo host resolution; the negative fixture correctly retargeted to a genuinely-unknown name. CI fully green. (scripts/cut-release.sh:63)
  • INFO: run_secret_scanning MCP tool not available in this environment; skipped per instructions. Diff contains only agent-name strings and bats assertions, no secret material. gitleaks CI check passed.

Cascade: triage → deep (triage: haiku 4.5 → deep: opus 4.8 + duck: o4-mini → audit: fable 5)

Summary

Trivial, well-tested change adding ci-failure-analyst to cut-release.sh's this-repo valid_agent allowlist (bats 46/46, shellcheck/CodeQL/SonarCloud/gitleaks all green); no security or correctness concerns. However the gemini medium-priority advisory finding is genuinely unaddressed at head c3b439b: the invalid-agent error message in main() (line 192) still lists 'pr-review | dev-lead | feature-ideation | ...' and omits ci-failure-analyst, so the allowlist and its user-facing error string have drifted. A dev-lead 'fix applied' comment claims a push but no such change exists at this SHA. No downstream consumers impacted (downstream-impact = none). Escalate back for the one-line error-message fix; no Tier-3 security audit needed.

Findings

  • minor: Error message in main() lists expected agents but was not updated to include ci-failure-analyst. It still reads 'expected: pr-review | dev-lead | feature-ideation | agent-shield | auto-rebase | dependency-audit | dependabot-automerge | dependabot-rebase | pr-review-mention'. Now that ci-failure-analyst is a valid this-repo agent, add it to this list so the rejected-agent guidance stays in sync with valid_agent. Matches the gemini-code-assist advisory (medium).
  • info: A dev-lead 'fix-bot-comment (applied) — Changes committed and pushed' comment was posted for this PR/SHA, but the claimed error-message fix is not present at head c3b439b. Verify the fix was actually pushed before merge.
