Graphite clean-pass comment not posting (vote already counts via check run) #2138

Summary

Graphite's custom rule for posting a comment on clean PRs is evaluated but posts nothing. Graphite is still running: the "Graphite / AI Reviews" check run completes with success on recent PRs.

Findings (verified 2026-10-09)

• The vote does not need the comment. The advisory gate counts a completed, success check run named Graphite / AI Reviews on the PR's current head SHA as a COMMENTED vote from graphite-app (_advisory_check_run_states, scripts/lib/advisory-review-gate.sh, added in Advisory gate cannot count Graphite's check-run clean pass: every clean PR waits out the 20-minute timeout #2005 / PR feat: implement issue #2005 — Advisory gate cannot count Graphite's check-run clean pass: every clean PR waits out the 20-minute timeout #2028). The registry resolves graphite-app to that check-run name (scripts/lib/reviewer-sources.sh).
• Live check. The gate's filter matches a current-head successful Graphite run on PR feat: implement issue #1973 — [Engine config · Phase 1] Versioned config/ai-engines.json as the single source of truth for providers, model catalog and per-task chains #2135, PR fix(holds/pr-review): honour every hold label; pin the escalation hold; re-evaluate after a self-dismissed approval; pin dev-lead to ring0 (#2089, #2090, #1933) #2091, and PR fix(#2086): gate each dev-lead retry payload on the target repo's pinned parser #2088.
• Still missing. No graphite-app comments on the 15 most recent PRs.
• Reviewer report. Clean passes already count as real responses through the check run. The report does not depend on the comment.

Conclusion

No code change is needed for the gate or the report. The only open gap is the Graphite comment, which is a Graphite App setting. It is optional for quorum and reporting.

Request

1. In Graphite App settings for petry-projects/.github-private, check why the clean-pass comment rule does not post. Check rule history or logs if available.
2. If Graphite cannot post the comment, close this issue as won't-fix. The check run already satisfies the gate and the report.

Success criteria (optional)

On a clean PR, graphite-app posts a comment stating no findings were identified. The gate and report are unaffected either way.
