DPI resets when changing export mode

The DPI field in export seems independent from the basic / advanced mode, but it is reset when we change the mode.

I would not expect it to be reset. I think the current behaviour is also not intuitive.

If I understand well, for now each time you copy this dialog opens and we reload the current settings. Probably the same happens when we switch between the tab (should not).

I think we should have 2 checkboxes.

• save the current settings as default
• do not show the dialog anymore (with a hint that it can still be changed from the general preferences)

I did not label it as bug because I think it was done like this intentionally, but it does not seem intuitive to me.

Regarding my original issue:

• The video is from the general settings, but it works the same way in the dialog which opens when you export.
• Is is not just about DPI, but also other fields like size and unit, but DPI is the easiest one to change because it has the same representation in basic and advanced mode.
• What I find not intuitive is that Basic / Advanced should just be an option which changes how you edit the preferences, but it is actually also a separate config state (you can use it to store completely separate configurations of how you want to export things). Instead, I think when you switch mode, you should migrate the form state to another mode, when possible, or lose some changes when not possible. If it is useful to store multiple configs, that should be a feature completely separate from basic / advanced mode.

Regarding other things you mentioned, like having 2 checkboxes and not reloading the current settings when you change tabs (I did not understand this one), I think you should open different issues.
