Swift 6.4 (Xcode 27.1) can't import the FBSimulatorControl framework: its swiftinterface doesn't compile #79
Thanks for AXe. We build a small Swift tool against the frameworks in the AXe 1.8.0 release (simulator-use's Simulator engine), and with Xcode 27.1 it no longer compiles.
The frameworks' binary Swift modules were built with Apple Swift 6.3.2 (swiftlang-6.3.2.1.108). Swift 6.4 can't load them, so it falls back to the textual .swiftinterface, which fails because the class FBSimulatorControl has the same name as its module:
FBSimulatorControl.swiftmodule/arm64-apple-macos.private.swiftinterface:24:98: error: 'FBAccessibilityElement' is not a member type of class 'FBSimulatorControl.FBSimulatorControl'
FBSimulatorControl.swiftmodule/arm64-apple-macos.private.swiftinterface:1050:58: error: 'IOSurface' is not a member type of class 'IOSurface.IOSurface'
Reproduce: Xcode 27.1 (27A9275, Swift 6.4), import FBSimulatorControl from the 1.8.0 release's Frameworks folder.
Building the frameworks with -Xfrontend -module-interface-preserve-types-as-written (or -alias-module-names-in-module-interface) should make the interfaces compile with newer compilers; a release built with Xcode 27.x would also do. Reported to us here: NoMac-app/simulator-use#1
