iOS simulator input on Xcode 27: hardware keys, app switcher, Lock and rotation #1024
Feature #1013 gives a lease holder input on its device's screen. On an iOS simulator it ships touch, scroll, Home and keys on iOS 26 runtimes only. A person cannot type with hardware keys on an iOS 27 runtime, press the app switcher or Lock, or rotate the simulator.
What was tried on 2026-10-26 (Xcode 27.0, iOS 27.0, iPhone 16, a simulator in a custom device set like Simlock's):
serve-sim's rotation (a GSEvent through PurpleWorkspacePort): the port is found and the send returns KERN_SUCCESS, but the simulator does not rotate. Xcode 27 ships no Simulator.app, which upstream says the port needs.
CoreDevice's vendor-defined HID channel (what Device Hub uses; expo serve-sim's CoreDeviceBridge.setOrientation): CoreDevice does not see a simulator in a custom device set (deviceUnavailable, not in devicectl list devices). For a simulator in the default set the call returns true, but a non-foldable iPhone does not rotate.
Hardware keys: serve-sim says the iOS 27 guest ignores Indigo keyboard messages; upstream routes keys through the Device Hub app (window in front, Accessibility permission).
App switcher and Lock: serve-sim says Xcode 26+ drops the injected Home press, and the app switcher is that press sent twice.

Open questions
Is there a supported or private path on Xcode 27 that rotates, presses the app switcher and Lock, and types hardware keys on a simulator in a custom device set, with no app in front?
