If bottle is set to Windows 7 or 10, the installer will throw error dialog saying: You must use "Turn Windows features on or off" in the Control Panel to install or configure Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP1.

What about setting to win2000? Modern Windows is derived from win2000, not from Win9x/XP code. So it may be safer to use win2000. |

XP is based on windows NT like windows 2000. Windows Me is based on Win9x. Also bottles doesn't list windows 2000 in its OS list and dotnet 3.5 also sets it to XP. https://github.com/bottlesdevs/dependencies/blob/main/Essentials/dotnet35.yml#L12 |
