Issue with cyt_gui.py starting the .sh files when clicked

This is a long shot since I doubt this repo is still checked after. I've gotten everything installed correctly per the instructions but im still running into issues. When I execute python3 cyt_gui.py and the GUI comes up and I click any of the buttons the .sh windows aren't popping up. This has made the whole program basically inoperable to use. Any help would be much appreciated.

I just purchased a Pi 5 I plan on getting this set up, so I should have more on it in the next few weeks!

I'm using a pi3b+, Ive also tried with DragonOS and the program seems to work fine only issue is that the WiFi cards and screens are finicky with that OS. Ill keep an eye out on here for updates, super eager to get this up and running.

Have you tried running Chasing your tail.desktop or cyt_gui.sh?

What cyt_gui.sh does is running a specific function in the python script.

python3 /home/pi/Desktop/cyt_gui.py func_run_cyt

On the other side, check the terminal output in case there is any error (if a terminal is opened, I don't really remember).

I'll get the raspberry and the antenna back and try to run it, to help you both.

I haven't used it since 2022.

I tried to give the chasing_your_tail.sh permissions to be executed through "chmod +x chasing_your_tail.sh" which gane back a error of "python3: cant open file '/home/pi/Desktop/cyt/chasing_your_tail.py' ; [Errno 2] No such file or directory". Running this came back with the same issues python3 /home/pi/Desktop/cyt_gui.py func_run_cyt. Im sort of new to using the Raspberry PI so that also is part of the issue.

It seems the files are not where they are supposed to be.

For the paths and commands that appear in the guide (pdf) you must download the repository in the desktop. That way in the desktop you'll have the sh files (for instance, the gui one) and also in the desktop you'll have a /cyt folder with the rest of the files.

The raspberry OS is just a Linux, so the same commands apply.

BTW there are two branches of the project:
-The main one, with the original version
-The map one, that includes a gui to show a map with the tails position by using a GPS antenna.

I just tired this and its still presenting the same issues. I also tried it on a different OS called DragonOS its a SDR/RF based OS which has cyt pre-installed. Examining the files on that OS showed that it had a pycache and a cyt_sub. On my cloned repo it lacks those. The only issues using the other OS is that compatibility with WiFi chip sets are terrible. I appreciate your help it seems im doing something wrong in the install.

For WiFi we used a usb antenna that supports monitor mode in order to listen to passively with Kismet.

I'll share a directories/files tree, so you can check everything is in place.

I've got that all up and running its CYT that's the issue currently. Hopefully when Matt updates the repo it'll have a bit better documentation maybe a youtube video for installers like myself.
