Summary of Changes

Hello @tlopex, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request streamlines the Python ecosystem within the project by eliminating obsolete files related to dependency management and build configuration. The removal of the gen_requirements.py script and its associated test file, along with the pyproject.toml file, signifies a cleanup of redundant components, simplifying the project's structure and reducing maintenance overhead.

Highlights

  • Removal of gen_requirements.py: The python/gen_requirements.py script, which was responsible for generating TVM's Python dependency requirements.txt files, has been entirely removed.
  • Removal of pyproject.toml: The python/pyproject.toml file, which specified build system requirements like setuptools and cython, has been removed.
  • Removal of test_gen_requirements.py: The test file tests/python/testing/test_gen_requirements.py, which tested the now-removed gen_requirements.py script, has also been removed.

🧠 New Feature in Public Preview: You can now enable Memory to help Gemini Code Assist learn from your team's feedback. This makes future code reviews more consistent and personalized to your project's style. Click here to enable Memory in your admin console.

Code Review

This pull request removes obsolete files related to Python dependency management, specifically python/gen_requirements.py, its test file tests/python/testing/test_gen_requirements.py, and a redundant python/pyproject.toml. This cleanup simplifies the project's structure by removing an outdated dependency generation mechanism, likely in favor of a more modern approach centered around a root pyproject.toml. The changes are consistent and improve the maintainability of the Python packaging. The pull request is a positive contribution to the codebase.

Because of the changes in this PR, the 'Install via pip local project' section in the https://tvm.apache.org/docs/install/from_source.html documentation is no longer working.
