Root cause: PawWork still carried an old Anthropic / Vertex Anthropic provider transform that split assistant turns whenever tool calls were followed by text or reasoning content. Upstream removed that reorder in anomalyco/opencode#30483 because the stale transform now works against the provider/runtime behavior it was meant to protect. Changes: - Remove the Anthropic / Vertex Anthropic assistant tool-call reorder from ProviderTransform.message. - Replace stale provider transform tests with preserved-order fixtures for Anthropic thinking/text and Vertex Anthropic trailing text. - Align the existing Anthropic session wire-payload fixture with the new preserved-order contract after the Occam review found the old payload expectation still locked the stale reorder behavior. Verification: - RED: focused provider transform fixture failed on the old split behavior: Anthropic length 4 vs expected 3, Vertex length 2 vs expected 1. - RED: focused session payload fixture failed before the fixture update because it still expected the old reordered Anthropic payload. - bun test test/provider/transform.test.ts --timeout 30000: 207 passed. - bun test test/session/llm.test.ts --timeout 30000: 21 passed. - bun run typecheck in packages/opencode: passed. - git diff --check: passed. - Claude final review: no P1/P2 findings. - Occam fresh-eye rerun: no P0/P1/P2 findings. - PR CI: all checks green, including ci, CodeQL, dependency-review, desktop-smoke, e2e-artifacts, and windows-advisory. Review follow-up: The additional Occam review flagged the stale session-layer Anthropic payload fixture as a P1. That was verified with a failing focused test, fixed in the PR branch, and rerun through local tests and fresh-eye review. Residual risk: No live Anthropic or Vertex Anthropic API call was performed; coverage is transform-level plus local session wire-payload verification.

Accept upstream/dev (158 commits) and drop fork-local Anthropic thinking workarounds, per decision to let upstream own that area going forward. Conflict resolutions: - provider/transform.ts: took upstream verbatim. Drops all three fork thinking hacks (preserve reorder order, strip completed-turn thinking, whitespace-only text filter). Upstream removed the entire tool-reorder transform (anomalyco#30483, closes anomalyco#29786) as a workaround for an already-fixed root cause, superseding our narrowing. The remaining completed-turn replay class (still open upstream: anomalyco#22813) is left to upstream. - desktop/main/index.ts: upstream removed the JSON storage migration and its loading-overlay/init-step plumbing (anomalyco#30461). That deleted the foundation our first-run migration overlay was built on, so adopted upstream's simple startup and kept only the companion server (our feature upstream lacks). Dropped now-dead overlay/init-step and the superseded startup micro-opts (deferred cert load, shell-env pre-probe, startup timing); recoverable from backup/pre-upstream-merge-2026-06-03. - bun.lock: regenerated from merged manifests. Full workspace typecheck passes (21/21).

Effect-based callers (shell tool, session prompt, system prompt) now pass the instance directory as an explicit fallback, and the test fixture enters the ambient instance context the same way production bootstrap() does. This fixes the shell permission tests (permission ask hook never fired because the command resolved against the runner checkout dir instead of the test tmpdir) and the cwd.test.ts suite. 2. Upstream 0c9cfe9 removed the legacy Instance.current fallback from attach(), so lash tests calling AppRuntime.runPromise from plain async code lost InstanceRef. New test/fixture/app.ts runTestApp() provides InstanceRef explicitly (upstream's intended pattern) for prompt-missing-file, prompt-special-chars, and prompt-variant tests. 3. The cwd sentinel cleanup truncated everything after the sentinel, but stderr chunks from the merged output stream can arrive after the sentinel is written to stdout. stripSentinel() now splices out only the sentinel line, preserving late stderr (fixes 'shell captures stdout and stderr'). It also cuts at the sentinel itself rather than the start of its line so unterminated stdout sharing the sentinel's line survives (fixes 'shell completes a fast command'). Also resets the shell-mode cwd singleton between tmpdir instances so a cd from one test cannot leak into the next. * fix(test): repair remaining unit (linux) failures on GitHub-hosted runners (LAC-2386) - execution-mode-color-bar.test.ts read the prompt component source from its pre-sync location (packages/opencode/src/cli/cmd/tui/component/ prompt/index.tsx); the upstream sync moved it to packages/tui/src/ component/prompt/index.tsx, so the module-scope readFileSync threw ENOENT and bun reported an unhandled error between tests. Point the read at the new location — all 14 structural assertions still match. - run-process.test.ts gave the unknown-model regression test a 15s subprocess budget and asserted wall-clock < 15s. Cold CLI startup on loaded 2-core GitHub-hosted runners was observed at 15.2s, tripping the assertion without any hang.
