rather than just
The Strategy Unit
which isn't an entity so I'm not sure if that can carry copyright.
Would it be useful to add to the README too that this can be generated (for R users) using
usethis::use_mit_license("The Strategy Unit, NHS Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit")
Running code also ensures an accurate date as otherwise this will require updating each year in this template repository.
Perhaps include in the README a suggestion to have an open licence early on in the starting of a repository as that will then cover every commit. Or should this be on the data science page about Git and GitHub?
