A navigation started from an effect of a route revealed with stale data (staleReloadMode 'background') discarded the pending background reload: the superseded transaction released its private background candidates with no recipient before the successor planned, so the flight was aborted and the successor (cause 'stay') never reloaded. The transaction now references its lane until background publication, and supersession hands the predecessor's background candidates to the successor through the same same-ID transfer used for its foreground matches. The dev-only refresh slot moves to index 7 so production transactions stay packed. Fixes #8644 Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

… plans Replace the supersession handoff of background candidates with one reservation concept: a navigation records the same-ID flights that are discoverable when it is installed, and until its loader planning ends that reservation, any owner losing a reserved flight's final lease leaves it discoverable instead of aborting it. Planning (or supersession) retires every reserved flight nobody adopted. This subsumes the predecessor's deferred same-ID leases, the `isFetching === 'beforeLoad'` grace in `releaseOwnedFlight`, and the post-planning zero-lease sweep, and removes the transaction lane slot. …anning A navigation canceled through its public abortController still reaches loader planning, but the reservation release was gated on a live signal, so its stale reservations kept protecting unowned same-ID loaders until the next navigation. End them whenever the lane's own transaction is still current; a successor has already ended them otherwise. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
…efore planning" A navigation's controller is only aborted internally by supersession, whose successor already ends the reservations, or by the redirect limit after planning. Aborting it from user code is unsupported, so the state is unreachable. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

staleReloadMode: 'background', a navigation started from an effect of the revealed route dropped the pending background reload.Cause
beforeLoad, so the flight was aborted.cause: 'stay') then never reloaded.Fix
Keeping same-ID work alive until the successor decides was spread across three mechanisms:
deferSameIdFlightat supersession;isFetching === 'beforeLoad'grace inreleaseOwnedFlight; These are replaced with one explicit reservation. When installed, a transaction records the discoverable same-ID flights:
Any owner that drops a reserved flight's last lease leaves it discoverable, whether that's the predecessor's lane, its background candidates, or a preload. Planning, or supersession, ends the reservation and retires the unadopted flights. A reservation is not a lease: an unowned reserved generation that fails still aborts without
onError. Existing tests pin this.Dev-only
refreshmoves to tuple slot 7, so production transactions stay packed.Tests
react-router: issue repro. Fails onmain.router-core: a preload that exits early on a child redirect, while the successor is inbeforeLoad, must donate its pending loader.solid-router,vue-router: issue scenario. Passes onmaintoo, because their ack ordering hides the race.Bundle size vs
