get_probe_site not working

When calling the following command:

sentioProber.probe.get_probe_site(ProbePosition.West, 1)

I get the following error:

ProberException: Unsupported remote command: get_positioner_site West,1

But the command looks the same as it does in the manual....

I'm using Sentio version 24.0.7, which I understand should recognize that command.

I’ve checked the code base. The command was indeed removed prior to version 24.0. As a replacement, we added step_positioner_site, step_positioner_site_first, and step_positioner_site_next. These commands allow you to move directly to a site without needing to query its position first.

In the mean time we’ve decided to bring the original command back. However, it is currently only available in the Feature Release of Sentio (25.1). It will also be reintroduced in the next stable version of SENTIO.

To solve this on your machine your options are:

• You can contact MPI to inquire about updating the machine to version 25.1.
• If you don’t need the position value, the stepping commands can be used to move to the sites directly.
• If you need the position values the only way to get those in 24.0 is to step to a site and then read the position back.
