Choose: GCP Vertex AI
Choose Region: US-EAST5
Expect to see: https://cloud.google.com/vertex-ai/generative-ai/docs/partner-models/llama/llama4-maverick
in the models list.

There are plenty other models missing but this is the one I needed.

Expected: have llama-4-maverick-17b-128e-instruct-maas in the models list, and it's missing.

Hi @konstantinosbotonakis! I am working on adding the missing Llama 4 Maverick model (llama-4-maverick-17b-128e-instruct-maas) to the Google Vertex AI models list for the US-EAST5 region. I will investigate the codebase to find where Vertex AI models are configured and add the missing model. I will update you with a pull request shortly.

Fixed in PR #5809 - Added llama-4-maverick-17b-128e-instruct-maas to Vertex AI provider configuration.

Hey! Here's how models are added in case someone wants to add more models to the Vertex provider:

How to Add Models in Roo Code

1. Locate the Provider File

Model definitions live in:
packages/types/src/providers/[provider].ts

For example:

• Vertex AI: vertex.ts
• Anthropic: anthropic.ts
• OpenAI: openai.ts

2. Add Your Model

Find the model object (like vertexModels) and add your entry:

No extra type work is needed - types are inferred from the object keys.

3. Model Will Auto-Appear in the UI

The model will show up in the dropdown automatically because:

• MODELS_BY_PROVIDER picks it up
• The UI pulls from this via constants.ts and useSelectedModel.ts

4. Regional Notes for Vertex

Some models may be region-specific - the VERTEX_REGIONS object in the same file handles this if needed.
