Stdlib: extension_loaded('zip') true — ZipArchive without ext/zip (ext/zip/php_zip.c) #11676

Summary

extension_loaded('zip') returns true and class_exists('ZipArchive') is true on VM while Zend (no ext/zip) reports both false. new ZipArchive() succeeds on VM — phantom extension probe before libzip parity (#3337, #5869, #6414).

Same registry class as #11669 curl / #11670 gd phantom probes.

Until ext/zip is fully implemented, extension_loaded('zip'), class_exists('ZipArchive'), and zip_* functions must all agree (absent/false).

Implementation hints

• ext/zip/Module.php — defer extension name to standard until Stdlib: ext/zip — ZipArchive open/add/extract (ext/zip parity) #3337 (curl/gd pattern Stdlib: extension_loaded('curl') true but curl_init() LogicException — phantom ext registration (ext/standard/info.c) #11627)
• Withhold ZipArchive builtin class until probe is true
