When pack() is used as a nested call operand (return value passed directly to another callee such as strlen() or bin2hex()), the VM loses the packed byte string. Assignment to a variable works; nested use does not — same operand-pipeline class as #11313 / #11338.
Triage 2026-06-24: repro passes on current master (VM matches Zend for nested pack/hex2bin operands). No code change needed — please close if maintainer confirms.

Merged #13162 — assign-expr call operands (strlen(($q = pack('C', 0)))) now wire through assign.result; repro + compliance green on VM.
Fix pack() assign-expr operands in nested call args (#11365). (#13162)
Compiler: wire assign-in-call pack() RHS for strlen() (#16273) (#16274)
