**A golden lives exactly as long as its environment. Fixed (2026-09-25).** A
golden is a stopped persistent sandbox whose snapshot never expires, about
4 GB at $0.08/GB-month, and the only per-team storage nothing bounded: the
release has deleted the golden it replaces since 2026-09-14, but archiving an
environment left its golden behind forever. Archive now deletes it. Measured
before the fix: 10 goldens (9 dead) and 6 orphan snapshots from before the
orphan-cleanup flag, 54 GB, swept by hand. Still owed (SUPER-2461): a storage
line per environment in Settings, and if goldens ever get an expiry it must
come with an automatic rebuild, because a golden's last use only resets when a
new box is created from it.

**Delete deletes.** `useDestroyWorkspace` decides by the cloud row, not by the
host it happens to reach: a cloud workspace goes to `cloudWorkspace.delete`,
which removes the sandbox (and its snapshots) at the provider and marks the row

Make sandbox deletion retryable after archive failures.

If deleteSandbox rejects, the database row is already archived, but the mutation fails before cleanup completes. loadEnvironment filters archived rows (Line 36), so retrying archive returns NOT_FOUND and cannot delete the golden. Persist cleanup as retryable work or allow authorized cleanup retries for archived environments.

In `@packages/trpc/src/router/environment/environment.ts` at line 417, Update the
archive flow around deleteSandbox so a failed deletion remains retryable after
the environment row is archived. Persist cleanup as pending work or allow
authorized retries to find archived environments, while preserving authorization
checks.
