Restore the "against main" committed-changes indicator in the sidebar (missing since 1.12.2) #5114
changed the title [-]Against main -- is not working on 1.12.2 (1.12.2)[/-][+]Restore the "against main" committed-changes indicator in the sidebar (missing since 1.12.2)[/+]on Jul 10, 2026
The mainstream case here was fixed by #4222 (restore the v2 sidebar LOC indicator, shipped in the 1.12.x line). The sidebar count includes committed changes against the base again.
One narrow case remains: if refs/remotes/origin/HEAD is unset (local-only repos, or worktrees that never tracked the remote default), the base comparison silently falls back to HEAD...HEAD and committed changes drop out of the count. That is now tracked separately (SUPER-1535) and has a candidate patch.
Closing this as fixed. If you still see no committed-changes count on a current build with a regular GitHub clone, comment here and we will reopen.
