Cmd+A should select input line text, not entire terminal output #2221
When pressing Cmd+A in a terminal pane, it selects the entire terminal output — all scrollback history, previous responses, everything. This makes Cmd+A unusable for its most common purpose: quickly selecting and replacing the current input text.
In virtually every text input on macOS (text editors, browser address bars, search fields, chat inputs), Cmd+A selects the contents of the focused input — not the entire page. The terminal input line should follow this convention.
Expected Behavior
When the cursor is in the terminal input line:
Cmd+A selects only the text on the current input line (the command being typed)
This lets you quickly overwrite your input by just typing, or delete it with Backspace
Current Behavior
Cmd+A selects all visible terminal output (scrollback + responses + input), as shown in the attached screenshot

Why This Matters
This is a frequent interaction — you start typing a command, change your mind, and want to clear the input. Right now you have to hold Backspace or manually click-drag to select. Cmd+A → type replacement is muscle memory for most macOS users.
