chrome/player/modules/vad/vad.mjs is an adapted copy, so nothing updates it by itself: port what matters, then set the ref of vad-web in tools/vendored-sources.json to 43e20495ffdfbf4320c88bc910febaf032a06829, and this issue closes itself. Closing it skips this change; a later one raises a new issue.
