Summary

Refresh NemoClaw documentation and regenerated user skills for the v0.0.52 release-prep window. Adds the v0.0.52 release-notes entry and regenerates nemoclaw-user-* skills so the published Fern docs and the agent-skill references stay in sync.

Source summary

Type of Change

  • Code change (feature, bug fix, or refactor)
  • Code change with doc updates
  • Doc only (prose changes, no code sample modifications)
  • Doc only (includes code sample changes)

Verification

  • python3 scripts/docs-to-skills.py docs/ .agents/skills/ --prefix nemoclaw-user --doc-platform fern-mdx -> 10 skills, 1724 lines, 29 reference files.
  • npm run docs -> 0 errors, 1 warning (Fern check clean).
  • npm run build:cli -> success (refreshed dist/ so the pre-push TypeScript hook passes).
  • Skip-list check against docs/.docs-skip skip-terms: no "permissive mode", "shields down", "shields up", "shields status", "config rotate-token", or "rotate-token" strings in docs/ or generated skills.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

This PR updates NemoClaw documentation to introduce WeChat as an experimental messaging channel with host-side QR login, update Windows setup to Ubuntu 24.04, clarify OpenAI-compatible inference API validation behavior, document v0.0.52 release changes, and add CLI flags and environment variables for onboarding customization.

Changes

WeChat Messaging Channel Integration

Layer / File(s) Summary
Messaging channels core reference documentation
.agents/skills/nemoclaw-user-manage-sandboxes/references/messaging-channels.md
WeChat is documented as an experimental messaging channel alongside Telegram, Discord, Slack, and WhatsApp. The reference describes host-side Tencent iLink QR login flow, token caching behavior, DM-only allowlisting via WECHAT_ALLOWED_IDS, per-account metadata baking, and optional quiet diagnostic mode via NEMOCLAW_WECHAT_QUIET.
Onboarding and channel add/remove/stop operations
.agents/skills/nemoclaw-user-manage-sandboxes/references/messaging-channels.md
Onboarding wizard and post-onboarding CLI operations (channels add/remove/stop) are documented to handle WeChat's interactive host-side QR flow, token caching and reuse, non-interactive failure modes, per-account state management, and credential rotation/removal behavior.
Integration policy presets and examples
.agents/skills/nemoclaw-user-manage-policy/SKILL.md, .agents/skills/nemoclaw-user-manage-policy/references/integration-policy-examples.md
WeChat preset is added to available presets table, integration policy examples document WeChat alongside WhatsApp, and a detailed "WeChat or WhatsApp Messaging (Experimental)" section describes QR pairing and preset application workflow post-onboarding.
Onboarding and skill documentation
.agents/skills/nemoclaw-user-get-started/SKILL.md, .agents/skills/nemoclaw-user-manage-sandboxes/SKILL.md
Get-started and manage-sandboxes skill documentation are updated to mention WeChat in messaging channel listings, flag WeChat/WhatsApp as experimental, and direct users to review channel details before enabling.
CLI command reference for messaging channels
.agents/skills/nemoclaw-user-reference/references/commands.md
Commands reference documents WeChat in nemoclaw onboard (via new --yes-i-accept-third-party-software flag), and channels list/add/remove/stop subcommands include host-side QR flow details, token capture/registration, allowed-ID behavior, and updated compatibility aliases.
Network policies and troubleshooting documentation
.agents/skills/nemoclaw-user-reference/references/network-policies.md, .agents/skills/nemoclaw-user-reference/references/troubleshooting.md
Network policy baseline explicitly excludes messaging endpoints (including WeChat), flags WeChat/WhatsApp as experimental, adds WeChat to the Open tier preset list, and troubleshooting guide expands to cover WeChat credential capture and channel management scenarios.

Windows Ubuntu 24.04 Setup Documentation

Layer / File(s) Summary
Bootstrap script and WSL setup
.agents/skills/nemoclaw-user-get-started/references/windows-preparation.md
Bootstrap script section is expanded to describe admin privileges, WSL 2 feature enablement, Ubuntu 24.04 installation, Docker Desktop setup, reboot/continuation handling, and first-run prompts; manual WSL steps and troubleshooting are updated to target Ubuntu-24.04 with matching output examples.

Inference Provider API Validation Clarification

Layer / File(s) Summary
Provider options and validation behavior
.agents/skills/nemoclaw-user-configure-inference/references/inference-options.md
Provider options and validation tables are clarified to document when OpenAI-compatible endpoints and Gemini probe /v1/responses vs /v1/chat/completions, skip /v1/responses on 404 errors, and how NEMOCLAW_PREFERRED_API=openai-responses affects runtime routing after successful validation.

Release Notes, Version Pinning, and Architecture

Layer / File(s) Summary
v0.0.52 release notes and version policy
.agents/skills/nemoclaw-user-overview/references/release-notes.md, docs/about/release-notes.mdx
v0.0.52 release notes document runtime upgrades, sandbox startup hardening, onboarding fixes, token validation, Windows WSL handoff, and blocklist reloading; component version policy is clarified to explain OPENCLAW_VERSION pinning in NemoClaw Dockerfiles vs min_openclaw_version as a compatibility floor for blueprint consumers.
Sandbox architecture and version pinning documentation
.agents/skills/nemoclaw-user-reference/references/architecture.md, .agents/skills/nemoclaw-user-reference/references/commands.md
Sandbox image description is updated to indicate onboarding builds from nemoclaw/sandbox-base and layers the NemoClaw runtime Dockerfile on top; status output and version reference documentation are updated with newer pinned OpenClaw version and OPENCLAW_VERSION details.
Onboarding environment variable documentation
.agents/skills/nemoclaw-user-reference/references/commands.md
NEMOCLAW_OLLAMA_NO_AUTOSTART and NEMOCLAW_WECHAT_QUIET environment variables are documented to control Ollama auto-start and WeChat QR diagnostic output respectively during onboarding.

E2E Advisor Recommendation

E2E Recommendation Advisor

Base: origin/main
Head: HEAD
Confidence: high

Required E2E

  • None. No required E2E is recommended because every changed file is Markdown documentation or assistant skill reference content. The PR does not modify installer/onboarding code, sandbox lifecycle code, credentials handling, network-policy YAML, inference routing implementation, deployment workflows, or runtime assistant behavior code.

Optional E2E

  • docs-validation-e2e (low): Useful non-blocking validation for documentation link and CLI/docs parity after documentation-heavy changes, especially commands and release-note references.
  • skill-agent-e2e (medium): Optional adjacent confidence that assistant skill loading and agent skill consumption still work after extensive .agents skill documentation edits, although this E2E does not validate the exact changed prose.
  • channels-stop-start-e2e (high): Optional runtime corroboration for the documented WeChat/WhatsApp channel lifecycle behavior; not merge-blocking because this PR changes only Markdown and existing channel implementation/policy assets are untouched.

New E2E recommendations

  • agent-skill-doc-consistency (low): There is no targeted E2E that verifies the shipped .agents/skills user-facing guidance is internally consistent with the current CLI channel list, policy preset list, inference provider defaults, and generated docs.
    • Suggested test: Add a lightweight skill-doc consistency E2E or validation suite that installs the CLI, loads .agents/skills Markdown references, and checks documented provider/channel/preset names against nemoclaw channels list, built-in policy preset metadata, and supported provider identifiers.

Dispatch hint

  • Workflow: nightly-e2e.yaml
  • jobs input: docs-validation-e2e,skill-agent-e2e

31-31: ⚡ Quick win

Inconsistent Ubuntu distro identifier formatting.

Line 31 refers to "Ubuntu 24.04" without inline code formatting, but lines 38, 72, and 93 use Ubuntu-24.04 with hyphens and code formatting to match the exact WSL distribution name. For consistency and precision, use Ubuntu-24.04 in inline code here as well.

Suggested fix
-The script requests Administrator privileges when needed, enables the required WSL 2 Windows features, installs or opens Ubuntu 24.04, and installs and starts Docker Desktop.
