nemoclaw uninstall fails with Sibling gateways remain on single-gateway systems in v0.0.98 #7987
nemoclaw uninstall --yes exits with code 1 on systems that have only one gateway registered. The uninstaller reports "Sibling gateways remain" and skips cleanup of shared helper services, forward watchers, and the HTTPS Pin Runtime adapter. It then reports "Selected gateway cleanup was incomplete; preserving its state for retry" and exits with errors.
On a CI runner with a single nemoclaw gateway and one my-assistant sandbox, no sibling gateways should exist. v0.0.98 appears to have changed the gateway enumeration or registration logic such that the uninstaller detects phantom siblings.
Platform scope: All Platforms — verified failing on Ubuntu 22.04 and Ubuntu 24.04.
Install NemoClaw v0.0.98 and onboard a single sandbox (my-assistant)
Verify only one gateway is registered: openshell gateway list
Run: nemoclaw uninstall --yes
Observe exit code 1 and "Sibling gateways remain" messages
Expected Result
nemoclaw uninstall --yes should complete with exit code 0, removing all services, gateway registrations, Docker resources, and CLI binaries when only one gateway is registered.
Actual Result
[1/6] Stopping services
Disabled nemoclaw-openshell-gateway.service
Sibling gateways remain; kept shared helper services and sibling forwards.
[2/6] OpenShell resources
Removed gateway registration 'nemoclaw'
OpenShell sandbox 'my-assistant' was already absent or unreachable
Selected gateway cleanup was incomplete; preserving its state for retry.
Uninstall completed with errors. Some state may remain on disk; see warnings above.
Exit code: 1
