Description
The nemoclaw onboard preflight check output renders [INFO], [WARN], and failed preflight lines in the same color. When a preflight check fails, there is no visual distinction to draw the user's eye to the problem line. Users must read every line to find the failure rather than immediately seeing it highlighted.
It was noted this would help users identify and resolve setup errors faster, especially on DGX Station where the preflight output can be lengthy.
Requested behavior: apply ANSI color coding to preflight output:
[WARN] lines → yellow
[ERROR] / failed preflight lines → red
[INFO] lines → unchanged (default terminal color)
- Must respect
NO_COLOR=1 for CI environments (no escape sequences when set)
Environment
- Device: All Platforms (observed on DGX Station)
- OS: Linux
- NemoClaw: v0.0.67+
- TERM: xterm-256color (color-capable terminals)
Steps to Reproduce
- Run
nemoclaw onboard on a system with a failing preflight condition (e.g., Docker not running).
- Observe the preflight output in a color-capable terminal (
TERM=xterm-256color).
Expected Result
Failed preflight lines render in red; [WARN] lines render in yellow. With NO_COLOR=1 set, all output is plain text with no ANSI escape sequences.
Actual Result
All preflight lines ([INFO], [WARN], failed checks) render in the same default terminal color. Users must scan every output line to locate the failure.
