[Enhancement]: Support for MCP Apps

What features would you like to see added?

I would like LibreChat to support the new MCP Apps extension defined in the Model Context Protocol.

MCP Apps allow MCP servers to expose rich, interactive UI workflows — including forms, multi-step views, actions, and app-like interfaces — directly inside an MCP-compatible client.

Adding support for MCP Apps would enable LibreChat to run structured, interactive “mini apps” provided by MCP servers, instead of relying exclusively on plain text-based tool interactions.

Why this matters

LibreChat already supports MCP servers and tools, but the MCP ecosystem is evolving quickly. The new MCP Apps extension introduces a standardized UI layer that lets an MCP server define:

• interactive task flows
• buttons, forms, menus, lists, navigable views
• multi-step wizards and app-like interfaces
• stateful sessions and context

Supporting MCP Apps would dramatically improve the user experience and enable much richer workflows directly inside LibreChat.

What implementation might include

• Recognizing the apps capability during the MCP handshake
• Rendering UI components defined by the Apps spec
• Handling user input, actions, and event callbacks
• Managing view navigation and app session state
• Passing context between user interactions and the MCP server

Why LibreChat is a good fit

• Already integrates with MCP servers
• Already provides a UI capable of rendering tool interactions
• MCP Apps would unlock advanced tool workflows without custom development for each tool
• Would align LibreChat with emerging standards in the MCP ecosystem

Hello, it would be nice to have MCP Apps (OpenAI SDK compatible and/or classic MCP App SEP-1865).
It is really an improtant functionality to have these days.

This feels like a deal breaker going forward.

Without support for MCP Apps / UI, LibreChat risks falling behind the direction the MCP ecosystem is heading and may not be compatible with newer MCP servers.
